Hey there I wanted to ask if it is somehow possible to hide objects which are owned by other residents on my minimap. Can I do this with the normal viewer,or do I need an alternate viewer if possible?

Hi Celshin, welcome to the Last Days of the Forum As far as I know there is no way of doing this, either with the standard viewer or any of the alternate viewers.

this is to bad.. because i just wanted to know this for my neighbour. he complains about my prims which are over the parcel limit and "blocks" his view on his minimap. i dont know why this is annoying.. i mean.. if he puts his prims on his parcel, the minimap is blocked as well..

Do you mean your prims are encroaching onto his parcel? If so, he has every right to be annoyed.
If, on the other hand, you are using megaprims, they can look much larger than they actually are on the minimap. They can be completely within your parcel boundaries (make sure they are!) and still show as overlapping his land. They do mess up the minimap somewhat, but IMHO, this is a small price to pay as they are so useful.

i use megaprims. i just tried to have some kind of space around my spaceship and used a giant bubble, but hes not okay with that, even though he even cant see it,because his house is on the ground an my ship is somewhere between 2000-2200 metres

Oh well, as long as you're absolutely sure they're not encroaching, and you're on mainland, then there's not a lot he can do. Of all the problems with neighbours he *could* have on the mainland, a slightly messed-up minimap really is trivial.
If you're on estate, you might want to double check that you're allowed to use megas.

A sphere can't overlap the parcel bounds, the way a cut megaprim can...unless your sphere really IS overlapping the parcel bounds.
Here's an easy way to check.
1. Turn on View/View Property Lines. 2. Select your sphere. In the Edit window, change the Z position value to 20 (or whatever your ground level happens to be) 3. Go down to ground level and look carefully to make sure the sphere is completely within your property. 4. If not, move it so that it is, or use a smaller sphere. 5. Change the Z position value back to its original number to put your sphere back in place.
I use megaprims all the time, and have no objection to their use by others. But, if you were my neighbor and your megaprim was encroaching on my land, I'd do more than complain about the minmap being obscured...I would AR the thing.

I had this happen with one of my neighbors, the huge prim sphere she was using appeared to be on her land but the mini-map showed it encrouching significantly onto my land. Apparantly the bounding box can be much larger then the visual appearance even though this was not a sculpt. I did find this to be very irritating as it took away from the usefulness of the mini map, obscuring parts of my land and all of the other neighboring properties around hers.
Fortunately this was only a temporary build she was working on, to be installed in a private sim, so she took it down not long after I pointed out the problem.

Hi, some clients can hide big things from the mini map. It is in debug, MiniMapPrimMaxRadius on Snowglobe and EmeraldMiniMapPrimMaxRadius on Emerald.

That would irritate me, too.

I wish I could turn off my own prims on the minimap. For some reason I find the cyan color distracting. If you are flying in a vehicle that little cyan-blue square rushing along, but not quite in sync with your yellow dot can be disconcerting.
I don't want to close the mini-map -- it is invaluable to keep from bumping into people. Oh well, it's a very minor issue.
