I've lost 3 sets of poseballs recently. These were not in my inventory but rezzed and available for all to use.

Is it possible for someone to have stolen them?

What are the chances of getting them back following an email to support. They're worth L$ 1,000 circa.

Are you sure they are missing and not there hidden? If they are the sort you can /hide, maybe someone has hidden them.

Hadn't thought of this, but... how do I un-hide them? They're free-range poseballs and not ones attached to an sofa, bed, etc...

I'll try clicking the space where they used to be!

Cheers,

Lhor.

Un-hide them by typing /show

Is there no way to list all your in-world possessions with their locations, and select the object from the list?

Great, I'll try all that!

I should really experiment with all 'em tools offered. Seems like there are some useful ones.

When I am looking for something that I suspect to be invisible (I often "lose" objects I use for light effects when I make pictures) I go to "About Land -> Objects". There I hit the button to show my own objects. All objects, inviseble or not, will be shown with white lines.

Try using CTL+ALT+T That highlights all transparent / invisible objects in a rather hideous red but makes it alot easier to spot hidden objects.

The same thing happened to me not long ago with a bartender animation I have on my land. I thought it just got deleted somehow, so I bought another one. After reading about the problem happening to yet another person and the replies that were posted, I tried the /show and /1 show commands. That brought the original back. I don't know what magically causes poseballs to hide themselves, but the proper show command should bring them back.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'm convinced that there are people who go around and say 'hide' or '/1 hide' to other people's poseballs just to mess with them.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get your balls.

:D

I do actually hide other people's pose balls if I'm taking pictures and/or feel like they're negatively impacting the 'atmosphere'...all those blue and pink (usually) globes do not make an attractive background. I generally show them again when I'm done, but I wouldn't be surprised if I (and others) have sometimes forgotten to do so.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

So it must have been you!

Yep, they were hidden. CTL + Alt + T gave me super powers and I saw 'em

THREAD TITLE OF THE WEEK!

Also, there's something else you should know about poseballs. Sometimes they WILL disappear as far as you're concerned (not visible to you even in CTRL+ALT+T mode), but other avatars will still be able to see them!

I actually have two or three poses on my island that randomly "vanish" from my Second Life, but I have been able to see/use them with alts, even though my main couldn't see, use, or even bump into them.

I know a furniture designer who's seen this happen to poseballs on his own creations with the same results. Clearing the cache doesn't fix it; it's totally random and bizarre.

Another thing; this appears to happen to poses by certain designers, which makes me wonder whether it's something in the scripts they're using. My designer friend's poseballs are based on some open source script and I wonder if the other two vendors I've had this issue with have used the same.

Anyway... it's annoying and bizarre and hard to reproduce, but it does happen.

Congrats on finding your balls.

Finding lost objects is a common problem.

Anyone know of free "find your objects" scanners?

I have one that I wrote that's pretty cruddy but I bet there's some decent ones around for free.
