Body part missing error and buy button greyed out

Everytime I start up Second Life I get the error that it can't load a body part. Sometimes I am normal, sometimes I am invisible. Then instead of my avatar file being where I saved it, it is under new body in the Lost and Found (and there are many of them). Trying to revert back to another saved avatar doesn't work.

Also, my buy button is greyed out, so I am unable to buy anything even though I have plenty of Linden.

Can anyone PLEASE help me?

Hi Morwyn and welcome to SL.

I can't think why your buy button is greyed but I might be able to help with your avatar.
If you navigate your inventory to library/objects or clothes, you should find folders labelled males and females of goth, city chic, nightclub etc. drag one of these folders to your avatar and if rezzes properly, then try a relog.

SL can get flakey often and sometimes just kicks up a new glitch.

edit: are you saving your 'outfits' under the clothing folder?

Well, that didn't work, but I contacted support within SL and they gave me a newbie avatar and helped calibrate my graphics card and network connection. It has seemed to fix everything, including my inability to buy things. I have to redo my avatar, but at least I'm functioning again. Thanks for your help.
