So I've been looking around for a place to get in-game news...partially for investment info (I play the WSE and have been quite successful so far !) but also to know more concrete info on things like land prices and different developments in-world that affect the economy.
So far I've found the following and have the following to say about them:
SL Rueters - they talk about SL from an RL perspective. Okay for people that don't actually know anything about SL but rather useless for people that know what's going on in SL
SL Herald - the nicest thing I can say is they let anyone write a story about anything. Not the kind of substance I'm looking for
2nd Citizen - From what I hear the forums there are quite brutal...I'm not looking for drama.
This forum - when you wade through all the belly-aching you get a little info from a rather narrow cross-section of the population...before the thread gets locked or turned into a flame-fest.
So is there, in fact, some sort of news source that has concrete information about things that are going on in SL that could actually matter to a majority of the people? I'm talking legitimate reporting with tangible facts and no opinion outside of editorials.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueler?

You have a financial section? Maybe you guys should get in touch with WSE (in case you haven't yet) and start some regular reporting. Also, an events calendar would be smooth (in case you don't have one yet). I know you can look all that up in SL, but I think a lot of people would prefer a newspaper format. I've looked a little at the M2 site and have to say I like it so far! _____________________

We haven't as of yet, but will have an article on the ISE in an upcoming issue, and hope to start covering SL financial news on a regular basis (as soon as we can find someone who can cover that beat..). We have a very short events' list. We basically only include what people send it to us. Would you please explain more of what you would like to see in an events' calendar? A full page in calendar style? Well maybe something like that...maybe also a page of flyers/ads for events like you see in RL weekly papers for concerts and whatnot. I think that would be useful because people could judge by the graphic whether or not they'd want to check it out...and it would make it seem more real. Advertising of this feature would be a must, though! I know a lot of people that put on parties that would love to be able to have a flyer listed somewhere newspaper-ish where people would actually see it! _____________________
