Soooo I transferred out my Linden Dollars at one point because I had quite a bit and it turned into "credit" in USD on my account. I then transferred it out of credit to be sent to me as a check and put in all the right information and everything. I was told to wait 15 days after this for my check.. well it's been 25, and I am tired of waiting. I have sent multiple e-mails so the lindens about my problem and my non-existent money now and not gotten any good responses at all.

Has anyone else had this problem?

also because everyone asks this, the reason I did not use paypal and have it transferred straight into my account is because I got identity thefted last december and I never want to use paypal again because of that. (since that is the only place it can be traced back to.)

has anyone else transfered out their linden dollars for a check in the mail in here before? If so, how long did it actually take to get to you?

I am a bit worried that I kinna just lost $320 USD to.. nothing.

What is the progress listed on secondlife.com/account/process-credit-history.php ? If it is listed as processed it is possible that the check is in the mail. The 15 business days is how long it takes LL to process the check. So that is about 3 weeks for processing and how ever long for the mail.

I use pay pal - and lately its slowed down a touch.

Never have used a check - Pay pal is fairly easy to set up. All you need is a email address and a check to read your numbers off of.

I guess everyone half read what i posted because I think I answered both those questions in my post.

I got identity thefted through paypal and had my bank account put into -$2000 at one point so I will never use it again.

and I answered this too, but here's some proof:

Process Credit History

Return to Account Summary
Date Type Status Details Amount
Feb 13, 2007 Check Processed Details US$320.96

and my current US dollar balance states this:

US Dollar balance: US$0.00

as if It was already transfered out to me... but I have not received a
check or anything.

my transaction history states this:
Your Closed Orders (closed in the past 30 days)

Order Id Order Type Quantity Ordered Quantity
Filled Limit Rate Time
Opened Time Closed Closure Method Gross US$ Net US$

1562194 Market Sell L$95,000 L$95,000 –
2007-02-13 22:07:10 2007-02-13
22:07:10 fill US$342.97 US$330.96

and LL isn't responding to my e-mails anymore it seems. :/ but I am just gonna keep waiting.

So, the question to lawyers and people with law knowledge:
Do LL have legal obligations to Process Credits and transfer USD to the client?

(if yes, how long to process credit? say banks required by law to process cheque in 5 business days. This come back to old days when cheque processing was manual, now it takes minutes, but most of the banks still freeze money for 5 days, but at least they obliged to release the money).

it's already been processed, that's the problem, it's not even credit anymore. I was promised a check after 15 days. I'm at 26 here.

its 15 business days, 3 weeks is 15 days, plus then process and mail time. ALso, they ARE delayed due to some check system switch (which is supposed to be faster, but in reality is much MUCH slower)

apparently they only cut checks on Friday, then it takes about 5-7 days from that to be processed and mailed. Thats the info I've gotten from the people at LL. I withdrew 2/13 and just got my check on 3/9 so I was in the same boat, but for a lot more than $320.

Give it 7 days from the day it went "processed" and if you still didnt get it, call LL at the toll free number, someone will be able to help you out.

thank you dragon keen! I had mine processed the same day.. so maybe it'll be in the mail today? I dunno... it's still a lot later than yours, they need to give more of a warning because this is ridiculous. It's more like 30 to 40 days not 15.

hope you get your check!

I really do recomend Pay pal though - much lower fees and it only takes about a week.

Also - and this is more a peace fo mind. As soon as its processed it shows up in your pay pal balance.

then when you withdraw that to your bank account soon as Pay pal says its processed it shows up in your bank account.

Thus you dont get that limbo feeling of "processed but where is my money????!!!"

Takes only a couple days to set up a verified paypal

did no one read my first post about WHY I don't use paypal?!?!

I HAD paypal... it's the reason I was -$2000 in debt at one point, identity theft. paypal = no.

sorry I did miss this one.

The checks are going to take a lot longer. The paypal is obviously prefered by LL.

Its really unfortunate Pay pal's security failed you =/.

Anyone with similar experience?

I always use PayPal to take my US$ out. Only once has it taken more than 5 days, on the 6th I emaild billing and it was transfered within an hour.

Talking about cheques now, I was tempted to get one sent to me for US$1, just to have to hang on my wall but the minimum is US$100 and a US$15 fee. Don't think I'll be hanging 85 bux on the wall haha

glad you got it.... it'll be nice once LL gets plans into place to have a "SL Debit Card" as they so enticed us with a few weeks ago with that poll. I was told its being worked on, with of course no ETA

Actually, if you started the process on February 13th, that's 20 business days...aside from weekends, the 19th was also a US holiday. They probably exceeded the 15 day processing time, but not by much if you consider that the mail would have taken a few days as well.

it was finished being "processed" on the 13th. and it said MAXIMUM 15 days. Soooo yeah.. they really should make a note of that.

When did you start it? And what was the date on the check? I've only used PayPal for cash outs, but they've always had the processing portion done in a day or two...sometimes the same day. I assumed the extra time (0-5 for PayPal vs. 15 for check) was to get the actual check cut and to the post office, which is where their responsibility ends. They can't be held accountable for slow mail service.

And, hey, where I work, checks are only cut on a monthly basis, so it could definitely be worse. ;)
