I'm wondering why things don't work. I try again, again.
The mini map shows the sim in red. Ah, the sim is stuffed again, or is it me?
I logout and in again and all is good with the world but my last hour/half hour of time and work is gone. Again! Is it three or four times this session. I'm losing patience.

When the mini map shows the sim in RED, is it just my session?
Because I can logout and in again no prob. But if I wait, nothing seems to happen.

Again...I'm losing patience.

"red map" means that your client has lost it's connection to the server.

Anything you do in this state will not be saved.

as soon as you cannot walk forward, or copy prims, relog.

I have been playing since July. I have NEVER recovered from a red map state. I don't think you can "recconnect" without relogging.

This happens to MANY MANY MANY of us, and it is most infuriating to the builders.

Don't work in the public sandboxes. It seems to happen once an hour or so.
Found a few nice secluded areas. Only happened once and I was warned the sim was going down.

I find that the sim I primarily work/live/function in has gone down 2-3 times in the last month, either rolling outage or just the individual sim being down not counting things like grid-wide outages. Most of the time I discover it when I try to teleport in and the sim is offline.

As for the entire world going red, I don't think I've had that happen recently, meaning the last two or three months. Usually if I get disconnected it is because SL locked up rather than me being disconnected...

I get the red "the sim has lost it's connection to you " mini-map fairly often now, a lot more often than I did a year or two ago.

I get logged out or the red mini sim most often when I'm searching for a certain texture to upload from my own PC. Last version it stopped for awhile and i could leisurely search my files, now its back again full force. Thinking its either a bug that resurfaces or its a doorway into something were not allowed access to for very long, but don't mind me i love conspiracy theories. :D

Sadly, that isn't a solution, though it may make losing your connection a less frequent occurrance.

I never use public sandboxes any more, and I still get this lost connection problem every week. It's usually associated with trying to do anything at all while high packet loss is occurring. And the last update or two have increased the packet loss problem to intolerable levels.

I thought that a red sim in the minimap meant that the sim was crashing. It happened to me a couple times last night within about two hours. First time I was standing in one sim and watched the next one go down, it turned red on the minimap then disappeared. The second time it crashed with me in it :(
