Hi!
I have a small problem, I can't seem to find anywhere how to change my avatar. I'd like to try a new one. Can you guys help me out?

Click on "search", then select the "all" tab, then search on "avatar." Browse the results. When you see something interesting, click the "teleport" button. This won't show you all the avatars available, but it's a start.

First, I'd suggest taking a minute to at least glance through the help information that appears when you press F1, at least long enough to get some idea of what sorts of things you can find there. Assuming the F1 browser works for you when you press F1.
The are avatars in your inventory, in the Library folder; click the Inventory button at the bottom right to bring up your inventory, then open the Library folder, then open the Clothing folder, and you should see some folders named City Chic Female, City Chic Male, etc. If you want you can drag the folder right onto your avatar and that will change your avatar.
Another aspect of changing your avatar is using the appearance editor. To get to the appearance editor right click your avatar and select appearance from the pie menu.
Click on stuff and slide the sliders around a bit and if you find a combination you like click on Make Outfit at the bottom so you can return to that appearance if you change it later.

Over the years I have built up quite a lot of items during my various excursions through SL, that I have put into folders to give away to newcomers (male and female). I have also asked for donations from designers to giveaway. IM me in game, I'd be glad to give them to you along with a folder of notecards explaining how to do some things in SL.

There are several different ways to change your avatar, more or less. 1) If you want to be human, you'd change your shape (see SuezanneC's post above) 2) If you want to be something non-human (not remotely shaped like one) you'd pick up an avatar pack somewhere which would include a shape and several attachments you'd all need to wear at the same time 3) If you want to be something in between, for example a neko, then it would be a combination of a human shape, neko skin and several accessories (tail, ears, etc) but all those things could come from all different stores You didn't really make it clear which of the three (although there are possibly more variations?) you meant  . |
