Landmark dock?

I'd like to have a thing like a noticeboard in-world where I can drop landmarks, so I can move them from my main character to one of my shady, slippery Alts without having to run 2 SL's at one time. Is there such a thing?

To be absolutely perfect, the dock would have a title or a way of using LM folders so that they can be organised by topic, or into "tours". The "picks" bit of the profile isn't nearly big or feature-rich enough to make this work (unless the Lindens want to make the "Picks" into a straight open window on someone's Landmarks sub-folder...)

Dunno about a product for this, but if you open your Alt's Profile, you can drop a LandMark on it just like you can transfer other Inventory objects.

There is, I'm not sure what sort of scripts are required or where to find them, but I'll poke around tomorrow, when I get a chance to get online. I've seen plenty of places where you can click to "recieve a landmark to mainstore!" and I figure it'd be under a similiar principle.

The above noted suggestion though, is probably far simpler. Just like anything, pass the landmark to your offline account, log out, and back in as your alt. Accept the landmark and tp away.

create a prim with your main account ...drop the land mark in it and then pick it up as the alt.

Only really works if you have land or a REALLLLY quiet place

Unfortunately, there's no user-friendly way to organize stuff in an object's Inventory: objects don't get to have Folders like the avatar Inventory. So the work-arounds for that are clumsy. One approach is to keep Notecards that describe the hierarchical structure, for use by accessing scripts. Another (prim wasteful) approach is to segment storage across multiple linked prims. Or the user might adopt some naming convention for stuff being dropped into the object's inventory. Or the script may store in memory user-supplied "tags" associated with the individual items (kinda like a texture organizer).

Further limiting options is that there's no way for a script to see the Description field of stuff while it's in an object's inventory--indeed, no way for a script to know the Description of anything except the object in which it is itself contained. So, as far as a script is concerned, a Landmark's Description is completely invisible.

Yuck. That's a real show-stopper for the idea I had... Thanks, if you see what I mean!

I'm not sure if this is useful or not, but whenever I LM a location, I right click and edit the name. I'll backspace over the last half or third of the existing name, press the Home key to jump to the beginning and then add my own descriptor, usually as follows:

Clothes
Neko
AO
Prefab
Furniture

etc. And then sometimes add a secondary descriptor like:

Clothes-formal
Clothes-goth

It works for me but I know not everyone organizes the same way. Cheers.
