If you rent a house or condo can you run a business out of it? For example, can you sell items out of the house, advertise items for sale or offer services for Linden dollars in a rented property? Are there usually zoning restrictions? If so, are these posted somewhere?

Such things are decided by your landlord and typically landlords have a notecard with all such restrictions. When reviewing prospective landlords ask for a terms and conditions notecard.

If you are on a private estate, see what the covenant says. Most fall into a few basic categories. 1) Residential only 2) Commercial only, but generally with sublet and club or casino restrictions. 3) Mixed use, but generally with sublet and club or casino restrictions. Best to talk to the person you are renting from. If your business covers rent, it may make for some good times insofar as the property will then turn into an income generator for you and the landlord (and good stuff for customers too).
