include mature content checkbox in search

My partner kept thinking our classified ad was not working while I could see it was working fine. It turned out to be the "include mature content" wasn't checked on their search. What exactly is this setting for? If it is to include any sim or location on a sim that is not restricted to pg (which is what I think it means) why wouldn't this be checked by default seeing as how the overwhelming majority of sims are not restricted to pg. If it means to include Adult content (such as sexual) then how can I make sure my location/ad is not set to require this setting to be checked to be viewed in search results as it has nothing to do with that sort of content.

actually regardless of what it means I would like my location being found in search results to not be dependant on users having this checked in their search. :-)

Thanks!

Un-check the 'mature' checkbox in your classified.

It means that your business sits on a sim designated Mature, or (in the case of events, mostly) that the advertised activities/products have been designated Mature by the poster. In any case, LL, like most real word entities, always defaults on the side of caution--hence the default to PG searches only.

Despite the fact that I'm constantly getting caught by this myself (especially after a clean reinstall of the client), I actually think defaulting to PG content is a smart idea. The default position of any setting in the client shouldn't be "Scare the children," or in my own case "Freak the old guy," and frankly, a quite innocent search for even something like "Tip Jars" can lead to some pretty graphic finds when you have the "Include Mature Content" box checked.

Zaphod, Thanks. If it is indeed that simple of a solution then this would be almost as embarrassing as when I was trying on demo hair in a store and having all my instantly disappear! I can't try out your suggestion just yet as SL is down for maintenance(?) again and will be for many more hours yet. (Does anyone ever see any improvements after these maintenance breaks?)

Kamael, I do see, and agree with, your point. Just not when it affects me. hahaha j/k I know what you mean about innocent searches. I trying searching for adboards... the results would lead you to believe they are almost exclusively used/offered by sex shops, strip clubs, and escort services.

Thanks for the replies.
