The way I get around that minor problem is instead of clicking the LM directly from my inventory I right click and open the "about landmark". That opens the landmark in the landmark box.......choose teleport from there. No beacon.
![]() And a way rid the beacon should it show up for whatever reason open your big map and click the "clear" button. I've not found a way to turn off that beacon other than the way I do it.........it can get annoying. But, I still like Emerald. |

If you click the arrow at the base of the beacon, it'll disappear.

The red beacon is not an Emerald thing. It's a matter of teleporting to a place that has a 'Landing Point' set and your choice of location is not the landing point. (^_^)
This can happen if you TP in via map, by an LM made while there was a different Landing Point set, or by an LM made after walking away from the existing landing point. (^_^) The result is that you TP to the point and the beacon will appear in the place you intended to be. This is helpful when the LM aims for a specific product or location instead of the landing point as you can still walk towards it. (^_^)y _____________________

That used to drive me nuts until I figured out about clicking the arrow at the base of it.
Used to have to deal with always having this giant red beam from the sky somewhere in my view, often blocking the fun things... _____________________

I get the red beacon when I tp to my land below my platform. And there is no "landing point" set for my land. It does not do that with the LL viewer............so I'll say it is an Emerald thing. |

I didn't know about the arrow, I used to walk to it or push the clear button in Map.
Normally it's a viewer thing when you tp with a landmark, but it can change slightly from one viewer to the other. It's handy when there is a landing point and you set the landmark elswhere you can find the way back. |

Right-click the mini-map "stop tracking."

If you're TPing home, you won't see it. If you tp elsewhere, and there is a landing point set other than where your landmark is, you will see it. It is not just Emerald. When I TP home I land on my sky platform 4000 meters above the ground. When I want to go to the ground level I can either fly, fall or TP. Flying and falling take quite some time so my normal method of getting to the ground is to TP down. I have no landling point set for my land. Anyone can set a landmark on my land and it sets the LM to the location they are standing when they set it.........thats where they will land next time they TP there. They do not land at any specific spot on the land.........they land where they were when they set the LM. I DO get the red beacon when I TP from my inventory directly either from my home location (4000 meters above) or any other place. I do not get the red beacon when I open the about landmark and tp from there. The happens with the Emerald viewer and not with the official LL viewer. This also happens to every LM I have in my inventory (old or new)............and every LM does not have a landing point set. It appears to be an Emerald issue. It's a minor annoyance. The OP has had a couple workarounds offered. It's of very little importance now. Stop correcting me when I know my land settings, my landmarks, which viewer this happens with, and my home location. |

I am not trying to correct you about your land, which wouldn't give the beacon to others because there is no landing point.
While you don't have landing points on your land, it is quite common for many places to have landing points, and trying to teleport there will bring up the beacon. It is something that will appear whether or not you're using Emerald. I DO have a landing point set for my land. When I teleport down from my skybox, in Emerald or any other viewer, I DON'T get the beacon. Why? Take a guess. I teleported to a place that had no landing point, and got no beacon. It is NOT an issue just for Emerald. _____________________
