Hi, I have been having issues with purchasing Lindens. My c card is in Good Standing and has been on my account since aug 15th 2006. I keep getting this message over n over when i try to purchase Linden's today:

We are unable to complete your request.
• The system encountered an error while processing your order, please try again.

Can anyone please, please help me on this??????

And, is anyone else having this problem?????

How else can i SAFELY purchase Lindens? I am getting LOW!

I even re-entered my c card info and it still won't work??????

Please help... and thanks to all responders! =)

Hi Fairmaiden,

The first thing you should do, if you haven't already, is re-enter your credit card information. In many cases that is enough to make everything work again. (Update: saw you edited your post to say you did that, so continue on...)

If the re-enter is not accepted, or if it is but you still can't buy lindens, contact your credit card bank to see if they are refusing the charge (many do because there is a lot of credit card fraud connected to SL). The number is on the back of the card, and most will release the blocks if you ask them. It takes about 5 minutes, and is definitely worth the effort.

If your credit card company won't accept SL charges anymore and you don't have another card or PayPal to try, or if you do but still can't get them to work, try a third-party exchange.

SL Exchange is the most popular, and is a safe place to buy lindens.

http://slexchange.com/

Anshe Chung is another safe place to buy lindens, but you will not get a very good exchange rate from her (meaning you'll pay more money for fewer lindens).

Whatever you do, do NOT buy lindens on eBay! Many people selling there obtained the lindens using stolen credit cards. LL usually traces these transactions and they will take the purchased lindens back from you... and possibly another 50% as a penalty! It is very unlikely you will get you money from the seller (since they were specifically trying to steal your money), so you will be out of luck.

"there are no L$ issue`s, as u can read from our blog it`s all working a`okay"

lindens must be getting paid in L$ as salary or else they`d notice :D

I've been watching the Lindex today, seeing if the lump of lindens i put up was going to sell. There is a lot of activity so it appears at least some can buy and sell Lindens. Not sure why some are having issues.

Have you called your credit card bank to see if they are rejecting the charges from SL, and if so, if they will let them through with your approval?

More and more banks are becoming wary of Second Life and the potential for fraud, illegal gambling proceeds, etc. If your bank recently added SL to their general 'entity to watch' list, it wouldn't matter that you've been billed successfully in the past...they'll be stopping ANY payments to Second Life/Linden Labs, from everyone's accounts.

Your difficulties may still be a glitch on SL's end, but it's definitely worth checking with your bank as well.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Good question. You can find out by calling your credit card company and asking.

I'm sorry to be repetitive about it, but we get this same question quite frequently, and for some reason people are very reluctant to call their credit card company. It only takes maybe 5 minutes, so why won't people try it?

Due the high rate of credit card fraud connected to SL, many credit card companies have started rejecting SL charges. Other credit card companies started rejecting SL charges after LL's recent switching to a UK bank to process their payments. If your card falls under either of these categories, you can't verify it and you can't fix it... unless you call your credit card company.

So, either call your credit card company to find out if they are rejecting the charges, or try one of the third-party sites we have recommended above.

yup for a couple of weeks, finally said screw it to lindex and bought them off anshechung.com, a little more expensive but if LL can't fix it they will lose out (and I did send a report in that they received).

Why not SL Exchange, where the exchange rate is much better? They have excellent documentation on their web site, and their customer service is very good too.

I had problems for the last couple of days buying Lindens from
both my account on the SL website and via the SL client.

So I tried SL Exchange...but failed the first round...but that's
because I didn't understand the process, which is actually
very simple:

1. Login to SL Exchange [slexchange.com]
2. Click on the SL Currency Exchange tab at the top of the page
3. Click on Deposit USD in the left menu
4. Deposit how much you want to spend
5. Then Buy $L
6. Then Withdraw $L (which will send the $L in-world).

Whole process takes less than 5 minutes.

Only takes 5 mins if you've done it before. I just tried, and I'm on a "Hold for manual review of USD deposit "

*mumbles* All I wanna do is buy land!

So I took someone elses advice and used anschung and *that's* taking time too. With my luck, there will be an adfarm on the land Im trying to buy by the time I get lindens
