Hi all. I have some questions about a land situation.
I own some property that, last I knew, was bounded on 2 sides by the land of a single owner. I have met her and she seems very nice. Well I drop into my house today and bounce of banlines as I try to leave my property. I pull up the property lines and see that a few sections around the edge of her property have been sliced off and are now owned by gov linden and she has put up banlines around what she still holds. Why would a thing like that happen (presumably abandoned for tier reasons?) and is there a way to buy it from the lindens before it goes to auction if it shares a boundry with me?
Thanks for any advice.

Several abandoned plots in my sim too- but I never see them come up for auction. =/
In theory they'll go up for auction at some point. In reality it could be a while and they'll just sit there.

I thought I heard that they don't auction plots this small (512) though. Wish there was someone I could contact about buying it since it runs the entire length of my parcel. )

Have you asked her what happened?
Very odd that she would put up ban lines if she had good relations with neighbors. Also seems odd she would abandon the land by carving a thin slice from the outer edges, unless she knew that would be more likely to make it stay public land/unbuildable without her having to pay tier to keep it as open space.

Gov. Linden hasn't put it up for auction yet and may not for a while.
I have had tons of luck with getting the Lindens to change their land to return all and unban all. Just made a support request and for the most part within a day I get and answer thanking me for telling them about it and then suddenly the land is free of trash and it's open to fly through.
I also had a piece of propety that had a 64 sq m chunk out of it that a Linden gave me for free so I could have a full 512 sq m piece. Very nice of them and that happened within a day too.

Hmmm...what Linden did you speak to Max? I have never had any contact with any of them.
And for the record, the neighbor is great and I haven't heard back from her yet. The best scenario would be that she decides she wants the land back and works wiht the lindens to get it herself. I don't want to seem like I am trying to snatch it or undercut her or anything. I would just hate to see it get away if she doesn't want it. As for the banlines --her land, her choice, just odd that there was an open invite before.

Hopefully the plots now owned by Gov. Linden have the auto-return set. Two small plots owned by Gov. Linden in the sim that backs up to my home (I'm right at the sim border) were not, and someone came along and built a store on them. 800+ prims on two little 512m2 plots. Seemed to be setting up rentals for vendor space, too.

I'd IM Guy Linden or send him a notecard, asking to add the abandoned land to the auction queue. Don't forget to mention sim name and parcel coordinates.

Submit a Support Ticket.
Any of the in-world team will change the land to the proper settings if they know it needs it.
"Normal" Linden owned land settngs are: No ban lines of any sort. Build Enabled, Script Enabled, Auto Return set to 5-10 minutes (varies). Only the roadways are kept to NoBuild to prevent traffic tie ups *smirks* (as if that matters until LL gets sim crossing just a BIT smoother).
Be sure to give them sim NAME and the map co-ord of the parcel in your Support Ticket.
