For the past few months SL has been a complete nightmare for me. When SL crashed it wasnt only SL but my whole computer every time, closing all applications im workign with in my computer and tada! The Blue Screen of Death ( Which I had no idea what that meant until SL ) -- I invested in a $200 usd+ Grapchis Card just for SL to be friendly again.
Every "update" day SLs new add-ons require for my computer to be tougher and tougher and I had to beg a tech friend to hold my hand and explain to me what exactly is going wrong.
Theres an inside joke inworld im sure in many circles between the 7 million of us how everytime there is an update day something major breaks down. Which is fine, its understandable. But I dont see why these updates shouldnt be pushed back or held back longer until theyre completely fine tuned and bug free. Today I encountered this while Downloadnig SL 1.17:

The only reason it gives for failing to download these files *may* be because of my
Firewall but I searched my Firewalls and theyre off so Im at a loss at what to do
next.
I wrote all the errors that showed while SL 1.17 was downloading during my 4th or 5th try. At this point I cannot log-in to SL at all, if anyone brilliant enough to understand whats going wrong I would be blessed and and so very grateful for your enlightenment!
Oh, I also tried Downloading First Look which is 1.16 which tells me to Download 1.17 which is borked borked borked.

Just an idea but try downloading the file rather than try to go with the upgrade

Yeah...I ALWAYS uninstall, then REinstall SL...the "Pop-Up" Updates usually gave me nothin but trouble

*This was resolved, my friend helped me fix by deleting everything Second Life from my computer, restarting and downloading Second Life again. I dont know what went wrong from earlier, perhaps my computer was just moody. But just a heads up if it happened to anyone else. Yay!
