Ok everyone,

I have a somewhat silly and yet very annoying problem that I hope you can help me with.

Every time I try to attach a belly ring by clicking "wear" from inventory, it friggin disappears into my belly. I can see the stupid thing just blinking and blinging like crazy from inside my stomach but can't seem to get it out. I can't grab it to edit it out, you know?

Any advice would be appreciated. ;)

Try opening the edit window and then select an area around your belly where you suspect the jewelry is hiding that way it will be selected, then you can just pull it out with the arrows.

It is possible to look inside of your avatar, takes a little practice, but you can say look at the ground beneath your feet, from the distance of your chest and sort of roll the camera view over so its looking down inside your body cavity. Then you can click on anything that is there to select it and move it out.

If the above doesn't work, look in your inventory and note which attachment point on your body it uses. Then detach it and attach it to a random peripheral point like a hand (right click, attach to...). Then using your arrows, drag it some distance from your body. Then detach and now reattach it to the original point. It won't be in the right place but at least it should be clearly visible away from your body and you can stand on a pose stand and put it back to where you want it to be.

Easy way to see what you're looking for...

You can use Wireframe mode to see easily inside your avatar when attached items bury themselves. Hit CTRL + SHIFT + R and your avatar and everything around you will appear to be drawn in lines. Once you've achieved this, hold your ALT button and click and hold your left mouse button on a prim near your avatar (use this as a pivot piont for your camera) Keep holding the mouse button while moving your mouse which will swing your view to where you wish to be... slow movements are best when first trying this.

Once you can get a clear view of the attachment inside your avatar, right click and edit on the attachment and move it forward until it's outside your avatar boundary. Hit CTRL + SHIFT + R again to go back to your normal view and adjust the attachment to suit.

The fail-safe way I've found to adjust belly rings is as follows -- works every time. I had little success selecting things inside me in wireframe.

1. Attach belly ring
2. Edit appearance and change:
A. Torso "belly size" slider all the way to the left
B. Body "body fat" slider all the way to the left. May also need to set Body Thickness to zero as well.
At this point the belly ring will appear correctly positioned on your navel
3. Stop editing appearance and get on a Posing Stand. Move belly ring out quite a distance -- beyond where your belly usually is.
4. Edit appearance and restore your normal settings.
5. Get back on the posing stand and move the belly ring to where you want it.

Voila! It will always now attach in that spot.

if you can modify it and make it very large. Then attach it and shrink it down pulling it away from your avatar. Or just bring it up close to your belly in edit mode and attach it while in edit mode. The edit arrows won't go away so you can pull it out as well that way.
