Music and synch dance animation

This is a two-part question (pardon my far-reaching ignorance on both subjects).

1. Where can I find a list of URLs to put into the streaming music portion for my land's media tab

and

2. I've purchased a dance machine (which I've added dance animations to, easily enough). What I'd like to do now, is find the add-in (script?) that makes it loop the dances AND make the dancers dance in synch.

Hoping I was clear in my questions and that someone out there has the answers!

I can answer the first.

If you go to, say, www.shoutcast.com and play one of their streams with your own local version of WinAmp, you can use "file info" within WinAmp to see where the stream is coming from.

Simply copy that into your media URL.

Ah... just in case, WinAmp is found here: http://www.winamp.com/ (get the free one)


For the second question... ah... I'll leave that to teh Expertz.

edit: I know Crystalshard Foo is rather good with dance machines - might be worth asking her in-world.

I don't have winamp and to be quite honest, with SL being the system hog it is, I'm not sure running both at once would be such a great idea, but I will certainly give it a whirl!

You just need winamp running to get the URL.

Its not possible to have ppl dancing in sync with music. Put simply the music is comming from a source independant of SL

Nevermind, I totally misunderstood.

I didn't expect people to dance to the actual music.

By "synch dancing", I meant all of the people who are dancing doing the same dance at the same time, rather than choosing a dance.

To clarify, the type of 'dance machine' I purchased has several dance moves loaded. It also allows for any other dances to be loaded (with a recommended cap of x-amount of dance animations). When you click the machine it brings up a menu asking several things. Choose a loaded dance by number via channel, see the list of dances, let the machine choose a random dance.

On another person's dance machine (as well as one in a club I happened across) all the people were doing the same dance at the same time, with no "click this number for random"/"click this number for dance list" choice menu.

It was a simple "click and join the synch" scenario. I'm sure it's a matter of a few scripts dropped into the contents. I just need to know where they are

It looks like you have the answer to your music question but as far as your dance question goes please IM me in-world and I will send you a script that syncs all of the dances in your dance machine. I would go into more detail here but I am just too danged tired.

Susie I am in the exact same boat as the other poster, only differance is using some free scripts and such I have found here on the forums I have created my own dance machine
and would like to have all the dancers sync'd together, do you mind if I IM you in world also.
