You can't completely hide your online status. No matter what you try there is something giving you away somewhere.

Get an alt. Don't tell ANYBODY. If you can live with unverified status, even LL won't know.

Of course, you will know, but nothing's perfect...

Poor Mac users :(

Macs aren't powerful enough to display a 'New Thread' button at the top and bottom of the forum?

There is no way to completely hide your online status unless you go offline.

They never seem to get all the ways to determine if someone is online.

Best bet - just temporarily Mute people who you dont want to mess with you when you are online.

If its too much annoyance due to business , get a non-business Alt.

Its actually impossible to hide your offline status anyway - all they need is your Avatar key - easily obtained , and they can use a scripted object to check your online status.

easier way they can check is open your profile and if the Offer Teleport isnt greyed out the person is online.

:D

Maybe you could train yourself to only log your alt while sleepwalking?

I suspect you're reading messages from perhaps the 'New Posts' section? In which case there is not a new thread button. Make sure you're in a specific forum, not search or 'new posts' section, and not reading a thread, then you will see a 'New Thread' button at the top of the list of threads.

What he said. At the opening page of this forum, where the most recently active threads in Resident Answers are listed, my Mac shows links marked "New Thread" at the top and bottom of that opening page. They work.
