I'm a total noob when it comes to cashing out L$. I've been trying to figure out if LL can make US$ payments to a personal Paypal account, or does it need to be a Merchant/Premier account? I've looked through the Paypal website which is totally unhelpful (unsurprisingly). The best info I can find is this page https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside. I know I'm going to get hit by the exchange rate fee... can I avoid the other paypal fees?

You can pay to a personal account but I believe there are limits & fees.

In the UK if you have a verified Pay Pal account the account will accept payments or receipts up to £250, a modest upgrade (that in my country is free) will remove those limits. Yes as far as I know Second Life/Linden can credit your Pay Pal account, it is a simple option on their website (here). Payment receipt takes around 5 odd working days. In addition Linden will send you a cheque, there is a modest charge for that and payment duration usually depends on if you are US or (other) based. In my case (UK) I believe it is around 15 days. Hope that helps Regards John |

Thank you John, that helped, I didn't know about the £250 limit (i'm UK also). As far as I know, the upgrade that removes the limits makes you a Premier account? And then you have to pay fees for any deposit... I could be wrong though, small print makes my head spin!
I'll look into the cheque option, presumably these come in US$, I'll ask my bank if those are ok. _____________________
