Hi, Im looking ot get my own sim and recently put in a reservation, and a few oddball questions came up and I figured I would ask the residnets taht would have any experience with transfering/selling private sims to let me know my options i suppose. 1) If things dont go so well i.e. My Sales wont equal my tier ($295/mo) and I wish to *sell the private sim to another person how easy would this be to do or would this even be wise to do, I mean I see alot of private sims and what happens when the owners want to get out of SL and sell is this a difficult process and what kind of options are there? 2) Well I guess #1 covered it all but yea if you have any advice that would be great because this is going to be 3 big steps forward if ya know what I mean, Thanks

you list it for sale, somebody offers to buy it, you fill out a form, you pay some closing costs, LL transfers ownership to new purchaser, you rent land from the person you sold it to.

You can sell to another person, but you absolutely should involve LL before money exchanges hands. LL has a procedure to do this. It's on the website if you search for land info for private islands. You could also email the concierge and ask.

Ah, first things first, in terms of raw effort and hours expended you'll certainly lose out big if you sell. Even if you get all your money back. Selling is a pain and a huge risk, usually you have no idea who you are dealing with. I'd strongly recommend 'making a go of it' unless you are really in trouble. Second thing: Prebook. Tell your friends, tell your neighbours, don't be shy. Make a map on a 10x10 prim, and put some markers on it - take some money down, show a map of what you are going to do, make it really clear how you are unique and how you intend to make an honest effort. Third thing: advertise in forums, down in the land classifieds. Good luck.
