Group Land

Please let me know if I have this scenario correct:

- Jack and Jill both have premium accounts and can own 512m of land without incurring further charges

- Jack and Jill both own 512m of land

- Jack and Jill start a group, both classed as owners. Jack and Jill both donate 512m of land usage to the group

- Jack buys a 512m plot of land next to his existing home, then deeds the whole 1024m plot to the group. Jill retains her original plot of land.

At the end of all this it sounds to me like
- The group owns 1024m of land that Jack and Jill can both fully manage
- Jack personally owns no land and continues to pay $9.95 a month. If Jack buys any more land it will increase his monthly charge.
- Jill personally owns 512m of land and pays $15.95 a month

Based on what I've just said, do I properly understand how group land usage works? Thanks in advance for the info. :)

Huh? It sounds like Jill's being taken for a ride. No, she would pay the same $9.95 as Jack. They both donate tier to their group. In this case it would be 512sq m worth of tier each. Or did I miss something there?

No, I think you do not.

When Jack and Jill donate their 512sqm of land-usage rights to the group, they forgo the personal rights to that 512sqm of land-usage rights. The group gets exclusive use of the 512sqm of land-usage rights, plus a 10% group bonus.

Because of this, neither Jack nor Jill can donate land-usage rights to the group without tiering up. This means that Jack has a peak usage of 1536sqm during the month that this is set up, before things continue as you have outlined.

This is avoidable, however, if Jack does not donate his land-usage rights to the group immediately, and instead waits until he deeds his first parcel to the group, and donates them concurrently, and buys the second parcel for the group with the land-use rights that Jill has already given rather than buying it for himself first then deeding it after. [Unfortunately, I do not know how to do this, or if it is even possible.]

Alternatively, Jack could defer his donation of land-use rights to when he donates his second parcel, with the same results. [This I`m sure will work.]

In any case, things can continue as you said; they just cannot get that way the way you said.

Clear as mud?

You did. Jill both donates tier to the group and keeps her own land, for a total of 1024sqm of land-use rights. Jack donates 1024sqm of land to the group, but donates only 512sqm of land-use rights.

A good deal clearer than mud, thank you. I'd forgotten about the peak usage thing.. I guess that applies even if he only owns the land for a couple of minutes.

See, this is why I come here before I do something. :)
