I found a script called Antiposebal wit a descriptive NC in a freebie script collection. Now I heared that this script is sold on SLEX. Cam someone tell me, whether this really is a freebie or not?

The only one who can tell you for sure is the script's creator. IM him or her.

I have a free one by Lex Neva, which exhorts me to distribute it "willy-nilly".

The Antiposeball on SLex is apparently sold with full perms! Any one who does that nowadays is just asking to be ripped off.

I won't disparage a product I've never used, but rather, knowing the history of investigation into this, I just have to put in a plug for Learjeff Innis's "Easy Sit Target Positioner" which is essentially a freebie (L$1) on SLX (http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=318690). He gives credit where it's due, notably the notable Lex Neva, who must have experimented for hours (and, if he tackled it the way I did later, solved a system of Diaphantine equations) to get the right constants to actually put the llSitTarget positions in the right place. I highly recommend that product. (If anyone really can't afford the L$1, they can search the Scripting Tips forum and find the whole history of how this stuff evolved.)

Well, probably best described on the SLX listing for the product, but the idea is to embed animations and sit targets into furniture prims themselves, without requiring separate prims for poseballs. Saves a prim and reduces clutter. (The "state of the art" of sitting has advanced a bit beyond that, too, so multiple avatars can sit on a single prim, animated, and properly positioned and oriented. Those scripts aren't completely free in their fully functional state yet, AFAIK, but there are enough clues in threads in Scripting Tips for a reasonably skilled scripter to figure out how to do it without a lot of experimentation. But all that depends on Lex's original work--as does the fixing of a bug that would have made every poseball and every piece of furniture in SL look slightly "off" in Havoc 4.)

It creates the necessary scripting to put a pose into a prim without using a poseball to hold it the pose or animation, reducing your prim count. My version puts the script into chat and I copy that into the prim along with the animation file.

An anti-poseball script basically does what the title says... allows you to put the sit animation in the chair without worrying about your avatar sitting in a weird position when you just do a sit.

It works like a poseball but you don't have the extra prim on the chair. Also makes sure that you don't have to continually adjust the poseball if you change shapes (and prevents sinking in the chair).

It is really easy to use and I would be happy to help anyone that is unsure how to work it.

I brought mine from the slexchange and was worth the investment.

Oh, is THAT what it is?!

SLX has a freebie...Learjeff's Easy Sit Target Positioner. It's not a script per se, it's a scripted object that you 1) load with your sit pose(s), 2) sit your avatar on, 3) position your avatar relative to the thing to be sat on, and 4) install the sit pose in the sat upon object.

There is also a non-freebie device that does the same thing, but it's a different product. I haven't used it, so I can't tell you if it's any better than the free one.
