Cancelling premium?

Hello =)

T'is not a rant, t'is a question! (well, three! =P )

I'm currently trying to downgrade my account to basic, because in future I will not be needing to use it so much, and I have no current need to own land.

I've been waiting about a month and it's still not downgraded. If it's going to take a long time, I can't really afford to keep paying each month, while waiting.

Can anyone tell me, if I cancel my account now while it's downgrading, will I run into any problems?

How long on average does it take to downgrade an account?

And also... if I cancel my account now... will I still have to pay my monthly fees until that time when my account cannot be reactivated?

Sorry if it's confusing... and thanks in advance,

Elias =)

when you signed up for your premium account did you sign up monthly, quarterly, or yearly? If it is quarterly or yearly you will be downgraded at the end of the term that you paid for. If it is monthly and you're still not downgraded then contact billing and support.

The only other reason I can see that it wouldn't be downgrading is if you still own land. Check your account through the site and see when your next billing date is and if you still own land. If you don't own land, and your next billing date has not come yet, then that is when your account should downgrade.

The problem I see with cancelling is that you will loose your inventory.

Hi!

Thanks for your reply :)

Before I decided to downgrade I was on the monthly plan. I haven't owned land in a while, and I don't currently have any monthly tiers for it so I guess that confirms it. =)

I'll check when my next billing date is, maybe it's nearby and that's when it'll happen...

I've emailed support, so I guess I shall wait to see what they say.

Thanks again, hehe =)

Edit: I've just noticed... on my account page, it hasn't given me a date for when it will be downgraded. It says it's in the process of being downgraded but has't given a date, there's just a dash.

Have I done something wrong? Lol... maybe I missed a confirmation email or something?

Don't sweat too much. If it's in the process of downgrading that theoretically means that it will downgrade at the next billing cycle. That's what happened to mine, when I messed up and downgraded right after the billing cycle. I had to wait the rest of the month for the downgrade.

Remember that in between the time you start the downgrade and until you're actually a basic account, you will not be able to buy land, even private estate land.

If you're looking to move to a private sim anytime soon, do that before downgrading or you'll run into problems.
