Create objects ability in group not allowing creation of *new* objects, only rezzing

I want to set up group land so that only certain members of the group can build on it, and I'd like them to be able to build from scratch or rez existing objects in their inventory.

I unchecked the 2 "create objects" boxes in the About Land>Options tab and created a role in the group that allowed those members to create objects.

Those of us in that role can rez objects, but the build button is greyed out. Is this the way the ability works or is there another ability that will allow creating objects from scratch?

Make sure you are wearing the appropriate group tag.

group tag is not the problem, but thanks for the suggestion.

All i can guess is this might be related to the group roles. Still it doesn't make sense though. I know I've had trouble before with rezzing things from my inventory when there was asset problems. Creating a new object usually worked even if inventory rezzing didn't. :/

Hi frank, is it just the button greyed out? Somebody once mentioned they could still build from an edit box if the group build was on, it just didn't light the button.

If the Build button is greyed out for group members - make sure their group tag is on and then they can go View on the top menue and scroll to Build - that will turn on the greyed out button and they can build.
