Hi everyone, I don't really know the proper place to post this, so I'll just post it here. I'm looking for someone to play my son in SL, I already have the avie, so if you're intrested IM Eve Christiansen for details. Thanks.

May I suggest trying some of the adoption agencies in world, There are several available, and there are often kids looking for good parents. You may find others in some of the kid places, like Inner Child Depot. You might not, however, find one to play something as specific as what it sounds like you want -- but you may find some really great kids out there willing to be adopted by you.

If you need any help, IM me in world. :-)

Frankly, I find this utterly odd. I can understand the need to nurture...get a dog...but to encourage or desire another adult to play as a child is odd.

There are all kinds of bizarre things going on in SL right now with people playing as if they are children...and children playing as adults. There has to be a point where we all draw the line between fantasy and reality to keep this game safe.

/me rolls eyes

Please feel free to spend a few hours going through the archives. You'll find this topic done to death, and then some.

But I do find myself curious enough to take the bait. Exactly who is keeping what safe? I fail to see the point which you are trying to make here.

Anyway, it happens all the time in-world. Okay, not usually with someone wanting someone to use a specific avvie and such, but there's a zillion inner children running around in-world. It's just part of (Second) life. :-)

I could bark too, sometimes.

Yiffie?

@Charity: where exactly is the line between fantasy and reality that has to be drawn for some reason? As a roleplayer, I acted in so many roles in the past, in other worlds: a human playing a dwarf, an elf, an antropomorphic animal; a peaceful and harmless being impersonating a tough hero or a brutish villain; a mid-aged person acting as a wise old priest, a young girl, an ancient dragon... I can't exactly see how representing another gender, race, nationality, body size, muscularity, bravery, level of intellect or age within a game (an adult game even) could possibly do any harm.

Ok gonna say this......child simulated sex, which is NOT what is being discussed here, is repulsive.

But what are you talking about ? Odd ? Define odd if you will.

What if I am a 400lb woman in a wheelchair that crafts a skinny pretty AV that can walk and fly...is that odd?

What if I am a woman that has always felt like I was born in the wrong body and create a 'male' AV to personify myself...is that odd?

What if I am a skinny pimply young gal that creates the avatar of her dreams with curves to die for...is that odd?

What if I want to recreate a lost or missed childhood and play my SL as a child of 8...is that odd?

What if I don't have issues but have the imagination and desire to be a unicorn, dragon, cartoon character, butterfly, bug or monster in SL...is that odd?

What if I am a 40 something housewife that plays games and makes stuff in a VR world but can make some real $$ <cha-ching>...is that odd? My mom seems to think so!

Be very careful when defining the world.

All of us? Why I would neve... or, wait. :-)

Seriously, I think the original poster jes did't know a good place for her request (of all places, emplyment might be the better folder) and may not know much about how in-world adoptions and such take place. Ain't gonna hold it against 'em.

Who cares? She's an adult, looking for another adult to role play her son. How does that affect any of us?

Oh, I get a big kick out of this. Seems no one ever thinks about where they are drawing the line.

Odd. Odd is to suggest that if one feels the need to be nurturing that it's better to nurture a critter not of your own species than to nurture one of your own. =^.^=

K guys, this is a dead horse, dog, cat, fish, coat, squirrel and sheep, so don't kick it.

Firstly, Eve, this is not the right place for that question. This forum is for general game questions. Try looking for 3rd-party forums that will help you connect, you will get a better response there. Also as suggested, try the in-world adoption agencies.

Secondly, guys... STOP KICKING IT. IT'S DEAD.

Live by, 'to each his own' in this virtual world. No one's specific fantasy or dream in this world is any better or worse than any others.

Now please, don't muck this up anymore. We don't want to give them any ammo to remove this forum. It's been a great help to many, and I've learned things myself.

I'm locking this thread, it's in the wrong forum (no worries, i've duplicated the main post and moved the duplicated into classifieds), and the responces aren't helpful (since this is the Resident Answers forum).
