From: ConductorX Nieuport There is no longer any settings in preferences for the video card. Is this the new robot feature viewer or is there something I can do? There's a "Hardware Options" button at the bottom of that screen that might be of interest. And of course, if you check the "Custom" box there are lots of sliders to play with. May be worth checking to see if nVidia has a more recent driver, too.

Yikes... sorry CX-man. Now don't tick me off or I'll come visit ya! Under the graphics tab, check the "custom" box and all the customization sliders will show - more of them than ever before! Sylvia, I dunno what you've heard but my experience is just the opposite (of course)... both 20.14 and 20.15 run like Da Champ on my $500 Wal-Mart Dell laptop sporting Windows Vista Peon Edition (c). They've been so good I have left my Nich viewers unused, and I was a staunch Nich advocate.

I've had nothing but problems with this upgrade. I know I didn't have to which makes me so mad at myself...
Several times while running SL my video driver has stoped responding. I have not really crashed in a while and now I'm crashing a few times a day again. So, uninstall in my future I see...

Several times while running SL my video driver has stoped responding. I have not really crashed in a while and now I'm crashing a few times a day again. So, uninstall in my future I see... if my graphics card stops responding its generally because of overheating. Try getting a program like Speedfan, (free to download) which keeps an eye on your fan speeds and core temperatures, and you can set higher speeds if you need to. That said, I am finding that SL is running cooler for me with 1.20 than it was with 1.19. I am using a GEforce 8600. imogen

From: ConductorX Nieuport I get an error message from my PC that my graphics card has reset or lost sync. Vista and "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"? That's an nVidia driver issue with the 1.20 viewer, the 175.19 driver has been good for me so far .

Alternatively, try Riva Tuner, this allows you to view all attached devices and set various fan speeds. Speedfan does not always recognise the attached devices although good the interface from Riva is much simpler and more advanced in my opinion.
