Hello and thanks to all that post such useful information on this forum. I have been able to search out answers to almost every question that I have, but there are two that escape me.

I have a location that I am allowed 25 prims for placement. I can not figure out how to tell how many prims a particular item takes, unless it is listed on the notecard of the object.

I have looked in the edit menu and everywhere I can think of. I am sure it is something so simple and I am just overlooking it.

Question #2. Since the update I have lost the ability to see my HUDs. I have detached and reattached them, I did make sure that they are set to be visible in the client but have been unable to make them re-appear on my screen.

I am thinking when I log on next time I will clear my cache and see if that makes a difference, but please let me know if you have any tricks for when this happens!

Thanks again for any assistance and advice.

I can't tell how many prims an object has until I buy it, take it homw, check my prim level on My Land, rez the item and see the available prim number on My Land go down. So, yeah, I eagerly await an answer to this question.

When you open up the Edit menu on an item (I'm assuming you're right-clicking, and choosing Edit from the pie menu that appears), check the first tab (the one to the far left).

For me, it sometimes takes a little time to load in (asset server lag), but I will get the information on that tab, usually along the line of, "1 item, 15 prims" as an example.

Is that where you've been checking?
If so, give it a little time...perhaps you've closed the menu before the information loaded in?

Thanks! That is the area I was looking for it, and assumed it would be but have not seen it. I need to be a bit more patient. When I get back online I will take a look and see if I can find it.

Sometimes I think there are just too many things to look at while I am learning and I just miss the obvious.

Thanks again

Also, make sure you don't have the option to edit only your items checked in the Tools menu.

That can interfer with seeing the Creator and Owner of the object. I believe it will also not show the prim count, if the item is not yours and the setting mentioned above is checked.

If I remember correctly, you need to rez the object to see the prim count. So if you are unsure your land will be able to support the item, take it to a sandbox, rez it then look at the (I think general tab) on the object window.

hopefully that helps

you can see the prim count of an object even if you do not own it, however I am thinking it needs to be rezzed

I love it when ppl put on the description line of an object for sale how many prims it has, or at least somewhere on the ad pic

One little point. make sure you click the "More" button in the edit window. Otherwise your only getting part of it and that's the part that doesn't have the object details.
Clicking the more button will give you much more information.

If it is on your inventory this is true, but if you are out shopping and have the actual item in front of you then you can right click and edit on it and see the prim count in the drop-down menu before you buy. This, btw, only gives the prim count of the linked objects. If, for example, you re looking at a pool the water is generally not linked to it structure of the pool and will require and extra prim or two depending on size.

In my store I try to record the prim count in the object description box under object name so that the prim count shows up in the basic info you get just by placing your cursor over an object. Several furiture stores seem to do this or advertise the prim count of low prim items/sets.
