Just a quick question as this has been the first month I've had to pay tier to LL (finally got round to building my own shop).
My tier went out of my account yesterday. I knew my US$ amount in my account was short by about US$5 but I expected the system to take what was there and then take the rest from my Credit Card. Instead it just put me US$5 in the Red (-$5).
Whilst my over night sales have covered that deficit and I've converted enough L$ to remove the deficit, I was wondering how long you can stay in the Red for, and why LL just doesn't take the remaining amount owed directly from the credit card.
One other question while I'm on thats puzzled me in the past....
If you are in-world (or on the website) and have no US$ in your account and wish to purchase L$ then you can purchase any amount you want, but if you're on the website and you wish to just top up your US$ account, then you have to buy a minimum of US$25.... anyone know why?

The same CC worked fine for my main and the information for both accounts are the same.

2 weeks at -9.95usd
is how long I waited for them to increase my alts trading limit so I could sell the lindens to cover that, then it was disabled. Mainly becuase through Paypal it does not work to buy lindens for me or pay LL. I have a paypal account verified 2 years old and it doesnt work to buy lindens. Nor would it work on the page to offer my German Bank direct debit. LL has to be the only company on the internet that does not want me to give them my money. Slexchange, amazon and ebay have all happily took my money from paypal in the last week. And a few german catalog companys from my bank account. I neither need want or have a credit card.

LMAO When I first seen this title... "How long can you be in the red" I was going to say... What do you mean, I never leave the red, thinking you was talking about the packets in SL

.
You can be in the red for seven days. Then your account gets suspended. It will stay suspended for 30 days then it goes poof. You can save the account by paying the fee during the 30 days.
If you have funds available on your CC and LL hasn't charged it yet you can force it to be charged by buuying 1L. You can't buy Ls until your balance is even so LL will first take what is due on your account and then charge you for the 1L.

I agree with LNDINI.
My CC had expired recently and i had forgotten about it. Tier hit. 4 days into the grace period, I noticed it and corrected the problem. I then called Linden Labs (spending an hour on hold with at least a half dozen re-dials before i spoke to someone), to make sure they would not lock my account. The CSR at Linden told me a 7 day grace period, so i was still good, and that automatic billing would hit my card for the overdue tier that night.
The CSR also said that if i wanted to force my tier payment, to buy some L$, since their system looks for all debits and hits the card once for a single transaction. I did, and it worked; 5 minutes after I bought a few L$, my tier payment was showing on my account.
