If i was to uninstall second life from my PC and install it on mt new laptop would i loose everything i have bought in second life?

also while im here, not sure if i can ask this in here but i keep getting an error pop up on my screen saying
"the file or directory c:/docs and settings/name of my computer/application data/secondlife/cache/textures/4/4310b68d-97c6-29f2-3b58-07575defaa40 is currupt and unreadable. please run the Chkdsk utility."

any idea how to fix this, i have tried clicking on run and typing in Chkdsk but it does not fix it.

You don't need to unintall Second LIfe on your PC in order to run it on another machine. Install it on as many computers as you like.

Since it's a viewer, you can use any of those viewers to access your avatar and inventory. They do no reside on your machine, they reside in the LL asset servers.

Just remember that your viewer is like a web browser, and SL is like a website. You can use any browser, on any machine in the world, to get to a website. Same for Second Life. You can log in anywhere, on any machine, in order to play just as you would from your home machine.

All your stuff is stored on the secondlife server, so if you install SL on your laptop and log in you'll still have all your stuff :) There's also no need to uninstall it from your PC, you can have it on both and both, just don't try to log in with the same avi on both at the same time.

It sounds like one of your cached files is corrupt. You should be able to sort that out by clearing your cache and restarting SL. I can't remember exactly how to delete the cache, but it's somewere in the preferences window.

Hope that helps,
Vale
