sound crashing SL

i have had issues with crashing. this is very recent though. i have been in game over a year and yes i crash every once in a while but now its gotten out of hand. within the past month maybe less. seems everytime i TP i would crash soon after or within a few mins. i have dont the take everything off and TP and i still crash. the past few days i have noticed that when i click on sounds it has made me crash right then. im wondering if sounds in SL can be a problem. i remebr a while back some ppl were having issues with laptops crashing because of sound files or some such. im trying to update y sound card drivers but im nopt very computer savy so. any ideas or should i just learn to deal with the contstant crashing thats hit me recently.
