Help.. I went shopping for a new skin and bought a demo and when I found one I like, bought it. I tried the demo but couldn't 'take' it off. I then, maybe stupidly put thr 'real' one on but I'm left with the words 'DEMO' pn my face and body. I daren't go out 'cos I look so weird. Skye

The only way to change a skin is to replace it with another one...your av cannot be 'skinless,' even briefly...so wearing the real one was the correct thing to do. I'd guess lag is preventing you from seeing yourself correctly. Have you tried clearing your cache and relogging? Those two actions can solve a lot of SL ills. You might also try wearing another skin, perhaps from your Library folder, then putting the new one back on again.

You did the right thing by putting the purchased skin on. It is not possible to remove a skin, you can only put on another one to make the first one go away. Look in your inventory and search on the word "WORN" and this will show you which skin the systems thinks you are wearing. If this is correct then you may be experiencing some kind of system glitch. You could try clearing cache, relogging and/or rebaking textures.
You can find instructions for rebaking here. http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=339 |
