Just buy land ... the first 512m is tier free, so if you buy a 1024 sq m plot your first 512 is included in the Premium membership, then you pay +512 sq m.
"First Land" no longer exists. Broccoli _____________________

When you buy mainland, you need a premium account *and* you have to pay tier every month. The more land you own, the more tier you must pay. However, you can own up to 512 sq.m of land without having to pay tier.
Just make sure you buy mainland because the rules are different on private estates. _____________________

But, one the rules can be the same on Private estates and even cheaper than tier, since being diffirent rules you will pay much less per sq m or more matter who you are renting form_____________________

Lke the others said ... your first 512 sqm are free of monthly tier. You still need to buy the parcel (a one-time payment).

Once you are a premium member you can purchase land on the mainland in SL. To find land for sale use the Search button and go to the land sales tab. You will still need to purchase the land (it's not free) but the first 512sm of land that you purchase will not trigger additional monthly fees above your premium account charges. Owning more than 512sm of land will cause your monthly "tier" fee to increase. See http://secure-web1.secondlife.com/whatis/landpricing.php for info on these fees.
You can also obtain land on a privately owned sim/estate without being a premium member or paying tier to Linden Labs. In these cases you would arrange to pay the sim owner directly for the land and any "tier" fees they may charge. Some allow you to pay in Lindens, others require you to set up payments through paypal or a credit card. Regardless of which you choose I hope you have fun with land ownership in SL! |
