Editing HUDs positions??

I have some HUDS that conflict for position and I would like to make them work together.

Flight feather is on Top RIght
A Ninja AO is also there.
And I have StayAwake that I would like to move.

I figured that if I edited a HUD that the position was either Absolute on the screen or Relative to the screen postion, but apparently neither is true.
If I re attach the flight feather -from TOP RIGHT to BOTTOM LEFT, it disappears. And when I move it almost completely off the screen above, it does now show up on the bottom either.

Same with StayAwake..

(1) Where do you find info on such a topic?? IO have found the scripting Wiki, but no general techniques.. Just piles of undirected tutorials and impossible to search knowledge base articles. Search of "Edit AND HUD" and "EDIT HUD" gives me the same long list of irrelevant articles.

(2) How do I edit HUDS?? what is the position model they are using?? It makes no sense based on the testing that I have done.

Thanks,
wwv

Any time I've done that, the HUD i move ends up going off screen. I hit edit (on anything) then click in the far corner where I placed it. The arrows show and I move it over towards the center, until I see the control panel/options/whatever.

Hope that helps :)

I have seen a display mode...

Folks,
I have seen a display mode where rolling the mouse zooms the HUD view rather than the camera view. I have stumbled into this by accident, and have seen it several times, but cannot repeat the procedure. This seems like it is designed to allow editing of HUDs since it allows seeing them if they are off the edges of the screen. The entire HUD display is zoomed in and out with the screen margin outlined.

Thanks much,
windy

I've used this zoom mode once or twice. I don't have access to my SL client at the moment, but here is the process to using it, if i recall correctly:

1) Right click and edit an existing HUD you *CAN* see.
2) Hold down alt + ctrl and hit the down key to zoom out

You should then be able to select the HUD that went off screen and move it appropriately.

Good advice, I would add if you don't already have a HUD on that you can see and suspect that a HUD is off the viewable screen, make a simple box and attach it to one of your center HUD positions. Then do what Aki says.

Another way to do this: point the mouse cursor at the HUD object, hold the Alt key and "zoom out" by moving the mouse backwards.
