Anyone getting "invalid username or password" messages when trying to log in to secondlife.com with known good username and password combinations?

The username and password just worked to enter SL the virtual world.

Alas that is precisely the prob I'd been having with my alt long term. She could log inworld no problem but not the website.
LL have recently rectified this for me but she still can't get her cc info in to go premium ... it's bad when you can't give LL money!!

I assume you are not having trouble with your Sue name but with an alt instead?Did you see the latest blog post? Hopefully an account of yours has not been compromised. It would appear people have been using automated programs to try to "hack" people's accounts through multiple guesses. Perhaps LL has implemented a system that locks out an account temporarily for too many failed password attempts. That's all speculation on my part though.

Is it known yet if the error message about invalid username is misleadingly given out when the capcha system thinks you aren't reading the capcha image right?

Nope, it's this account, on the other computer.

I finally got in, after a dozen tries, using the same username and password it said was invalid a dozen times in a row.

It may be that the capcha system is screwed but the error message erroneously refers to username and password being invalid when the problem is elsewhere.

I can't speak for the new login but I did originally have a prob with the capcha when I started but it categorically said I'd got the capcha wrong I'm certain.
