Heyy all,

I am new to SL and have been aimlesly roaming around the world for a long time. Anyways does anyone have a good place that would be good to buy land on. I am looking for somthing like an actual neighborhood. I would really like it if the people who own houses there are there quite often. So does anyone know of a place like this?

Hi,

Be prepared to spend a good bit of money for what you're asking. What you want is certainly available, but in many cases you just get to rent the land rather than own it. Many private islands have deals like you're looking for as well. Really, just go to search -> Land, and make sure that the search doodad is searching for stuff you can afford.

Good luck!

On the other end of things though, if you've never bought land before, for sure buy some "First Land." This is a special program for new residents who've never owned land. Search for land again and in the top drop down choose First Land. Buy your land even if you won't do anything with it. You can SELL it for a LOT more than the $512L it will cost. I had people offer me up to $3000 within 10 minutes of buying my lot.

So, buy your first land, and if you don't like your neighborhood, you may be able to sell it for enough to buy a plot someplace more to your liking. Just be sure to read the covenant on that beautiful island property before you buy!

Neighborhood settings

There are many places for you to explore and explore you must if you want to find a setting like you describe. I would not bother with first land other than geting some for 512 Ls then reselling for 3k or so so that you can get some money.

You will want to live in an island setting rather than the Mianland, Mainland is always changing hands and it is quite chaotic and there really arent any rules , Dreamland is nice though much more expensive than most islands. Islands are set up most of the time as themed places to live where you wont have to worry about lag as much as you do on the mainland, look for "RESIDENTIAL" islands that do not allow clubs or commercial ventures and you will be well on your way.
If I was you I would opne up my large map and just pann around the islands until I see neighborhood looking ones. TP there and talk to the residents.
