I am sure I read the answer to this question a while back but now I can't find it.

If I buy a 1024 m2 parcel of land and give 512 of it to a group that I am the owner of. Is my tier still $0Lindens? I am trying to find a way to get 1024 without paying the tier price basically. thx

When giving the land to a group you would have to actually donate a portion of your tier TO that group. Your tier is based off of how much land in world you use or donate to a group, so you would still be paying for the tier. You would be receiving the 512 that comes with premium at no tier cost and an additional charge for the extra 512sqm. Only way to not pay it is to have 2 premium accounts receiving the 512sqm and have them both in the group, donating that land tier.

No, because either way you are holding on to 1024 worth of tier.
Donations are still in your name.

No. Somebody must pay the tier on all land owner by a group. If it isn't you, it has to be someone else: if the group doesn't already have the tier assigned to it, SL won't allow the land to be transferred to the group unless you agree to pay the tier.

Also, bear in mind that your tier is paid in US$, not Lindens.

In their defence, I know they posted the question in another thread, but they did start this thread before that person answered it (based on the time stamps).

To the OP, it really isnt that bad. Its only a $5usd charge monthly for the added 512 sqm. :)
