Wavie. The simplest way is to make a thin box, and then make it almost perfectly transparent. Look at Texture tab on the Edit box.
For more realism, you can add a texture that simulates some glassy like features, such as highlights and reflections.

I suggest looking near a window sill.
That's a joke.
I gave you a box with some glass textures in it and two objects called window, and five houses in a box, maybe they will be of some use.
You might try looking in the inventory Library folder for buidings and see if the windows might suit you.

When texturing a piece of window glass, some of the Library textures for water can look pretty good on the glass, if you set them to 90% or so transparent. Experiment with what looks good for you. Unfortunately, I believe that being transparent always trumps being shiny, so the "shiny" settings have no effect on transparent or translucent textures in SL. So if you want glass to look shiny, you have to fake it with textures of faint reflected images.
When I make the window frame textures that I sell at TRU, the glass area is usually a 95% to 90% transparent alpha mask, with just a hint of blue in the texture in that area. The precise texture that I use in my glass comes from the 3D program that I use to make my windows.
