Typical. Good things get threads that last forever. Anything that portrays SL/LL in a bad light, gets locked and shuffled away so noone can see it.

Unfortunately it appears as if things such as this, where residents are asking others for help with a problem, and losing land such is this is CERTAINLY a problem and a plea for help from the community, or have a thread such as the one that was locked where many of the posts are offering contrustuctive answers to a a problem - isn't the the whole purpose of resident answers? But instead these threads are deemed lockable - hmmm that many views and responses to a thread certainly shows an interest, wonder what the big threat was - maybe just a power play?
The truth of the matter is that problems like this are questions, questions to the community as a whole, and other residents are offering possible answers. To me there is nothing more serious that people losing RL money becuase of an obvious flaw in the system. I am glad that someone helped return a small portion of your land, if residents were allowed to show there support here for an obvious problem, perhaps it would foster an attitude of positive change. |

yes they close all the threads down about the landbots who steal land from people in second life so that people wouldn't get informed about the current fraud.
A very lame thing to do. |

Wow, what's happening to SL and information exchange? Is there a G.W. Bush Linden or something? _____________________

Um, before locking the thread, the moderator indicated that s/he would escalate the issue: "I'll jump on LL some more to do something about this."
Assuming moderators carry more clout with LL than the average resident, couldn't this be considered a good thing? /me dons flame retardant clothing and prepares to duck. |

Yes, I'm sure you are right. That's why they lock the threads but don't delete them, leaving them in a state where people can still read about it but cannot post more garbage. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the absolutely atrocious signal to noise ratio at all...... _____________________

/me dons flame retardant clothing and prepares to duck. /me throws a duck ad the ducked Persephone. With all due respect to Strife and his/her (I don't know Strife's gender) powers of persuasion I don't think even he/she can get their attention. _____________________

Hi again, I posted an article in my blog at http://blog.cosyhome.org/2007/04/12/warnung-diebstahl-von-land/. But attention, it is completely in German! Mel All those affected should gather together and approach the RL media together as an action group. Large sums of money seem to be involved and LL does not want to act in these cases, so use SL's media wave and get these storys in the RL media http://www.channel4.com/ and also http://www.bbc.co.uk/ do a few news stories about SL, channel 4 also will focus on other areas of SL in fact Copybot made the Channel 4 news and if the emphasis is put on the fact that LL seemingly allows it to happen with thier blessing whilst people lose a lot RL money, it may be of interest to them as the press loves the customer that gets ripped off well they do in the UK ![]() I think action will only be taken if you make this story as high profile as you can outside of SL, get some emails together and make your voices heard and good luck ![]() _____________________

Just wondering...since customer support has been taking a long time to handle requests, should we give LL a few days to right this wrong before we turn them over to the authorities? Maybe they will compensate the ones who lost land due to a bug or glitch.

boy ya you got that right... LL only seems to want good PR listening to customers...doesnt seem to matter much I've just giveing up on Linden Labs customer service my comapny WAS going be be in world but right now thats not gona happen That not true the deleted and closed I think about the thread about when I first made prim jello because I didn't ask question. I had meant too but the mod didn't let me before the closed the thread. Most of time they let certain threads go while others not and reason why was because they used the bot in questions name. The mod even mentioned how she was glad someone was posting about how she was glad I was having good time but it didn't ask question. So if you're going to start thread ask a question and then don't use other peoples names. Its interesting though the person in question I did see land for sale for 512m2 but I didn't see anything else then that makes me sort of wonder. I don't know even bad pr could turn into something good. If they think people are joining to rip off others, more will come think there a lot of ways to make money by hook or crook here, fools who want to give there money away. Including myself I definitely made my mistakes. I won't ever deal with our richest SL because of mistake I made as new, I just hope she made lots of money of my lots. |

Resident answers is only for posting questions that take the heat off the live help that LL are shutting off anyway.

This is a seriously good idea...my local news has a "problem solvers" they investigate rip-offs and bad business practices and would eat something like this up. After seeing all the problems in world just recently with people getting ripped off, losing money etc and LL not doing anything about it imho justifies getting the media involved, if it serves the purpose to warn people that u will prolly get ripped off here and hopefully create an awarness about it. The problem i see, is this is gonna get worse as its so easy to scam people here if thats the way you want to go and many will come here just with that intent in mind, whilst the good scammers will already have things in place and just be waiting for the right time to act, but i suppose thats the result of free and unverified accounts some will just see it as a way to make real money fast, there will always be the bad lot spoiling it for the rest. Shame but thats human nature for you ![]() _____________________

A warning about selling land and lag
04-24-2007 07:12
When lag is high, OPENING THE ABOUT LAND WINDOW MAY DISPLAY THE INFORMATION ON THE PREVIOUS PARCEL YOU WERE ON.
I've changed the media URL of a wrong parcel that way: leaving parcel A, entering parcel B, opening About Land. My change took effect on parcel A. |

Great news about your Land Chere.
![]() About closing threads, If you want to warn people in general about deficiencies, or vulnerabilities, that is not a problem. the problem arises when you Name specific persons, or Regions (naming a region automaticly implicates a specific person) Then you land in a TOS violation, and the thread will be locked. I've read many Warning notices that have remained open for a very long time, and all they have done is avoid Naming Names. Angel. |
