No account type takes precedence over another, unless Lindens turn on the emergency system (which they've never done yet).

log in prob...

i am a regular user of SL and usually have no problems.. i cleared my cache, i tried to use an alt account to login, i have chosen alternative locations to log in to, i have tried and re-tried for several hours. my account is payed up. it seems to be stuck at the point where it says "verifying protocol version" my inability to log in was preceded by an odd kind of behavior where some functions would work but most wouldn't, like; movement of my av, IM and chat functions. also i cannot get links in SL to open my browser although i see them on the opening screen. all these problems still persist

Thanks for all yer help and comments...
It seems the problem is gone although i don't know how or why.
if anyone knows why i cannot get SL to trigger the opening of my web browser i would be greatly interested to sort that out still.
thx again.

Not sure if this will help You any but, the exact thing has happened to me . I went as far as uninstalling and re installing like a maniac, I also did a good cleaning of my computer..as it turned out, the problem was my ISP..at the time, they were doing a switch over so anything that required a password wouldn't work. ( They never told us they were going to do that which in turn caused a million problems ) Thankfully the next day, everything was resolved.. all browsers etc worked and i was able to log in to SL on the first try. So, it could possibly be your ISP...maybe...I dunno...

I think folks in your situation might benefit by turning your computer, router, modem, etc. completely off, perhaps even unplugging them, and restarting them.
