In the sim where I live, there is a long strip of Linden land connecting with similar strips in the neighborings sims. I own lots on both sides of this strip and I was hoping these would soon be lying by the roadside.
However, months have passed by and I have seen no sign of construction of a road. Is there any planning on when and where roads will be constructed?

Ask Guy Linden. He keeps the list of future road projects. I wouldn't count on anything happening anytime soon though. They have an awful lot of territory to cover.

Many people have offered to help... and nothing has been forthcoming.
A shame really, because little things like this would make a big difference.
If you can't find road, there's some nice long stretches over by our Stratics HQ in Rosieri, and we provide a vehicle rezzing area next to it.

Are there going to be both Linden_Highways and Linden_Railroads? or just highways? Just curious,
Thanks, Markie

There are some railroads as well but very limited. I don't forsee LL adding any future railroads.

I IM'ed Guy Linden nearly 2 years ago to find out when a road was being placed in a sim I was in. He told me that the sim was on the list (which i figured was a good start) but i revisited the sim a few days ago and still no road. So, dont get your hopes up of getting this road laid soon, at least not in this decade.

From: Tegg Bode In the meantime, just buy a 4WD Errr, yes the terrain is rather bumpy and it is difficult to cross this "road" even on foot. I would not mind so much if it was just a flat lawn; my freebie Mercedes Smart would have no problem with that...

I would hope they would be railroads, since it's fun just to sit and sightsee.
I'd also like to see a gravel road, which would split the difference between keeping the path greenish and still keeping it accessable for cars.

This is one of the things that, in an abstract-haven't-really-thought-about-it kinda way makes me worry about the turn towards open source, perhaps private sim hosting. A comminity such as ours benifits in some ways from our 'government' and their schemes - roads, railroads, the like. Perhaps they're crap, perhaps they're not finished yet, but it saddens me to to think we might come to a stage where there's none of that and we all have to do it ourselves. Ok, on the face of it that sounds great - and there are communities that are strong enough to pull that together. But I don't think, on the whole, a lot of places would. Road prims would come out of our pockets - so many people post here upset with their neighbours, many people wouldn't have the money and space available to contribute even if they wanted to. If the Lindens back out totally and leave it to player development, I think things like roadways will be lost, which would be a terrible shame.
