Last week I liquidated all my land and dropped my Premium membership just before my billing date. Unfortunately I forgot to manually reduce my tier level to zero in time and got to pay another month. Yay.
I've emailed billing but haven't heard back yet.
When I go to the relevant page of my account now I click the $0 tier level but it won't take it.
Has anyone done what I have and does it just take to the end of my current billing cycle before it's effective?

I have owned land and sold it all more than once. I've never had to manually lower the tier limit on the web site. I've only been billed for land if I owned land during the billing cycle. You aren't supposed to be billed for land if you didn't own land during the billing cycle. My tier limit is currently at 4096 for land purchases and has been for some time. I don't get billed for anything because I don't own anything.
Do you have any tier contributed to groups or anything such as that?

It sounds like you still have tier donated to a group. Donated tier is considered "used" tier, so if that is the case you will be out of luck.

Interesting. I belong to a few groups but I don't remember donating tier to any of them.
Just checked. On my group land page it says I have 0 donated to groups.
When I bought my previous property I had a brief period where my tier went up and I could swear someone reminded me I had to manually lower it after selling down again.
I guess I'll know in a month or so or when I hear from LL, which ever comes first.

I dont think those numbers actually mean anything at least I have not seen it make an impact. if a person is paying tier after selling its because they passed the cutoff date for their account for that months tier and have to pay another month this is all i have seen happen

I hope that's the case. I sold the last parcel the day before my billing date, but maybe that was too short of a time frame.
