And how many prims are you allowed and how much control do you have over the land? That is, can you freeze, eject, and ban people? Can you control the media streams? Are you allowed to name the Parcel, or are you in a prefab building owned by another person?

I've rented for a while now, and am very happy with the amount of prims, the rent, and the landlord. Check it out and ask some of the people that rent there now. I know that if someone flew over and asked me about renting a property nearby, I'd be more than happy to endorse the landlord I rent from and vouch for the neighbours too. As well as offer any information or help that I could.

I wish you luck and happy renting! I have heard some horror stories so please do check it out first. Months+ long happy renters are a good indication for you.

Yeah basically what everyone else has said. Check out the number of prims you get and see how much customization you are allowed. If you are planning on spending a lot of time at your rental you will want to be able to pick music, say who can enter and have enough prims to make it your own.

I rent from Spinnaker Estates and I am very happy there because it suits my needs and gives me a generous amount of prims, but its all according to what you plan to do with it.

I decided to rent a small aprtment, just to have some place to get some privavy. If I want to tweak my avi, or work on my inventory, or try on outfits, or read some tutorials. It's worth it for me. I saw some really nice places, that I may upgrade to later on.
