Exploits? Bug? WTH?

I am checking my land options on a regular basis, several times a day, to make sure that my "Show in Search Places" option is intact. This morning, when I checked, the category selected was "gaming". Yesterday, it was "Any Category" as I had previously selected.
I did not change this setting. Leads me to believe that there is either a fairly serious bug which causes these things to bump around, or there is an exploit which enables other residents to somehow change settings on my land.
The land is group deeded, however I and my alt are the only members of that group. No passwords are compromised - my alt shows last online as several days ago, when I was controlling him. This change occurred some time between yesterday and just now when I checked on it. (likely while I was logged off)
Something's fishy here. Is this issue a bit more common than I'm aware of?

Strange! I just checked: My (group owned) land is fine. I think you should keep an eye on your land setting for the time being, to catch any further unexected changes. On the other hand, maybe your alt is opening up a casino w/o telling you about it?  |

Something's fishy here. Is this issue a bit more common than I'm aware of? Well, remember that Faybot Foxley did mention in one of his recent posts that Linden Labs (or at least a Linden) finally admitted that the name change issue Gaybot had was an exploit rather than an LL decision..... There are possibly other exploits... I can't imagine how that kind of exploit works, but I suppose anything is possible. [Edit] Although now that I think of it I am wondering if it had at some previous point been set to gaming. Was that what is was before "Any Category"? Had you checked it again after setting "Any Category"? I wonder if that option is just a placeholder and if you set it, it ignores that and reverts back to what was set before. |

Prior to setting it to Any, I had set it to Shopping. Unsure what it was prior to that. It bothers me nonetheless, as it's pretty much the difference between customers and no customers. Actually, LL has not admitted anything to me yet. I am still working with them to resolve this; unfortunately it is a holiday weekend. I have to wait for a response via email or IM on the next business day. The Linden I talked to was surprised that I didn't get a notification from LL telling me about my supposed administrator executed name change. A few people in world have told me they can change my name back for me; I told them no thank you, lol. Yet, that is enough to make me believe there is an exploit or security problem somewhere. Don't worry, I will keep everyone informed of what comes of this.
Good luck with your situation Zaph. I think something is wrong with the servers lately. I just found a script that is "missing from database" and will not open. It happened to be in a poofer object I created, and now the object containing the script is corrupted and also "missing from database". Last night there was a grid wide message that something was wrong, and it stated to not rez anything of value at that time.

These things often just change on their own.
My Classifieds decide to just not show up on their own - now I will have to remember to not only check if they are there every day, but also if they are there under the right category. (Check to see if they are there by going to Search, NOT by looking on your own profile, because they can show up there and not be really on Search.)
Also, a couple of my boxes for my new items decided to change themselves to no buy option, and a customer alerted me to the fact that she couldn't buy them.
Also, a couple of boxes in my inventory changed themselves from "take copy" to "take original."

It was back to "shopping".. there's definately something going on here. Time for a bug report.
