I don't know if it's just me, but I can't seem to find the 'PG Sim Guidelines'...
Anyhow, I was wondering what is acceptable in terms of nudity in a PG sim?
At the moment I work on a piece of land that is next door to a castle, this castle is a gay castle. I have no problem with this, but the thing that gets me is the images on the walls inside. I have built a garden next to it, and if you happen to zoom out a little too far your camera ends up inside this castle, in view of pictures of naked guys.
Is this acceptable in a PG sim?
Anyone got any advice on what I can do about this? if anything at all?
Cheers

Is this acceptable in a PG sim? Nope, this is not acceptable in a PG sim. From: Spad Bonetto Anyone got any advice on what I can do about this? if anything at all? File an abuse report. Naked pictures is adult content, and not PG. Broccoli

Just for the discusion.... would be a painting from a famous painter (Rembrandt, Michelangelo for example) with a (partly) undressed woman or man also forbidden? I mean, we take our children to musea and there they see it also. Morwen.

It's a difficult thing to describe, but I'd tend to look at it in the context really.
If it is a 'classic painting' as you describe... then that's clearly 'art'. However, naked pictures on the inside of a building that are grabbed from a website and add nothing except eroticism to a situation are not art by any stretch of the imagination.
Whether it's male, female, gay, straight or any other combination isn't actually relevant in this situation.

PG sims are supposed to reflect what a PG film would be allowed to show, with a little wiggle room for common sense. So PG sex poseballs should change into an image of a train running through a tunnel after you've engaged in a bit of petting.

This should most probably be reported as abuse. The guidelines state that such content should be contained within private property on a Mature rated sim. Others go over and above the call of duty to ensure their mature content is contained and isolated from those who might find it offensive.. there's no reason to think this person deserves any slack.

PG sims are there for people who do not want to be inundated with sexual images.
It is ALL about context. If there are images displaying acts of eroticism .. be it solo models or whatever .. if it has sexual connotations .. then it is a problem.
In the same vein, something temporary, like a couple having some fun on some pose balls, inside a building where it is not blatant, is prefectly fine. Its not as if they will be a permanent fixture. If they ARE a permanent fixture .. lol ... then obviously that is not ok....
Hope that helps...

I don't mean to bump this old thread, but....
How long should we expect Linden to actually sort this out? My land owner sent an abuse report well over a week ago, and I did another a few days ago.
Yet we have not heard anything? nor have the pictures been removed?
Our Party is tonight, so it's a little late, I just hope no one gets offended by the pictures.

Spad, have you talked to the owners of the castle? Or had your landowner talk to them? They need to be made aware that their pics are unacceptable for the sim. If you talk to them, maybe they'll take them down.

Where were you looking? There's an entire article in the Knowledge Base... From: someone What is the difference between PG and Mature land?
(the following was written by Cat Linden)
The PG and Mature ratings mirror those used by many countries' movie and television industries to denote the age-appropriateness of behavior, language and creations within a given area of Second Life.
PG Areas are designated to be free from sexually explicit language or behavior, swearing and other forms of aggressive language, violent behavior and/or imagery, including horror. In Teen Second Life, "gambling" for Linden Dollars is also prohibited.
Children and young people up to age 17 are automatically restricted to Teen Second Life, a special PG area that separates them from the adult population of Second Life for their own protection.
Adults age 18 and over may seek an experience free of Mature content and so, we also offer PG areas within the adult regions of Second Life.
Mature areas are limited to the adult-accessible areas of Second Life only, and do allow adult language and behavior.
So how do I know where to draw the line?
PG regions have frequently been described as an area where you're free to say and do things that you would feel comfortable doing in front of your grandmother, or a grade school class.
In Mature regions, Residents can be free to engage in more adult activity and language, though of course, explicit adult content must be contained behind "closed doors".
However, if you feel there's some ambiguity as to whether or not your activity or content is allowed in a PG region, it's likely best kept to a Mature region. Heh, heh, gambling is only prohibited on the Teen Grid...time for an update!
