Release Keys button

I haven't noticed it being there all the time, but from time to time my MystiTool HUD makes the "Release Keys" button stick to the bottom of my screen. Is there a way to attach the hud without that appearing there?

On past Mystitool updates that would only appear the first time I attached the HUD. I would click Release Keys, which would detach the HUD. I could then reattach the HUD without the Release Keys button coming up. With the latest Mystitool release it stays up all the time, and no amount of releasing/reattaching helps. I blame LL. :^)

I blame LL too since my ao does the same thing and it is the same one I have been using for about a year
the wet ikon freebie on, never had any problems with it, worked like a charm, then suddenly the stupid release keys button stays and can not get rid of it

me thinks LL messed with the scripting and did not tell anyone heh

Do you keep it on when you log off?

The reason I ask is that I sometimes noticed the same behavior with the freebie Flight Feather. When I first put it on, the Release Keys button shows up, and pressing that button detaches the HUD.

I found out, however, that if I leave the Flight Feather on when I log off, the Release Keys button won't show when I log back on (even though the Flight Feather HUD is still attached and viewable).

It may not be the same thing, but it's worth a try.

Right. Same here.

This behaviour is very welcome, but may not be a feature, though ... ;)

Anyone notice that the Release Keys button is now on all the time since today's rolling restart?

My Psyke's Personal Hud used to show only show it when I put it on, but if I logged off and back on, the Release Keys would not be there but the Hud was still there. Now, Release Keys is there all the time.

Reckon Dytska's right. I don't generally wear a HUD but both my walk anim & flight feather produce the key each login since rolling restart. Guess it's there for good now.

What's the point of that button anyway? Is it like a panic button or something in case you're wearing a script you didn't intend to wear or it's doing something you don't want it to do??

It's small enough that I've never really cared about it, but this thread got me wondering...

At me, it is annoying and it cannot be moved. It would be better if the function were on pie menu when right-clicking the HUD.

It's like many of these pointless features, bloody annoying !!
When I put shoes on my AV do I get a "special" button to remove them?
So why do I need this for my AO ?

LL fugged things up again with the rolling restarts today! My flight feather and ao both are now disabled by release keys, and the old fix of relogging does not work.

Also would have been nice to get a message that they restarted rolling restarts the 2nd time around instead of just having the sim crash.

Thanks Lindens

Heh, weird thing is, the flight feather is the only HUD attachment thing that is showing release keys now. When I put on some other HUD attachment that I don't use, that release keys button doesn't show. :\

Grrrrrrr!

I just checked and it is true. My previously almost invisible flight feather now keeps the stupid Release Keys button up at all times, even after relog. And of course it's placed right over the friends button, so I will often click it accidentally and take off the flight feather.

Flo... The only other things I've ever seen the Release Keys button for was vehicles and flight assists. Perhaps it's only triggered by certain script functions, particularly the ones that move your av (and the vehicle it's on) according to keys pressed. I'm just guessing at that, not that it will do us any good.

Either way, I hate it and want it to go away.

I have a "sexy walk" planted in my right shoe and I have the release key now..........never saw it in the past. Can't take it off without removing my right shoe and going back to the chicken walk.

Annoying to say the least.

My HUDDLES is doing the same thing.

But it turns out lucky it did. At one point, the HUDDLES stopped labeling its buttons...they were all blank instead of containing the name of the animation or whatever. Just minimizing, or detaching and reattaching the device did not correct it.

But hitting Release Keys and then reattaching the HUD worked.

Yes, for heaven's sake. As if the HelloMultitool needs this button. It's just dumb. Please vote for it so that it gets worked on sooner.
