Offered items being automatically declined - anyone else having this problem?

I hope someone can give me some advice for this, because it's driving me insane. A couple of days ago, I tried to buy a pose from a vendor; the payment went through, but I didn't get the item. There were 38K plus people on at the time, so I figured it was lag related.

I IM'd the seller about it, and he tried dropping me the pose while I was offline, but each time it was declined; I never got the usual message about 'so and so has offered you inventory, log in to accept.' It was just declined automatically. I've bug reported this.

This morning (as a test) I tried to buy another pose from another vendor at the same location. The payment went through, and again, no item. I checked my chat history, and there was a line saying that I had declined the item - while I was standing there at the vendor! For some reason, the item offered by the vendor was again automatically declined. Again, I didn't get any popup message about it.

This is making me crazy. I've bug reported it again, but is there anything else I can check? I wasn't in busy mode, and I've bought things from this person's vendors before with no trouble. I've cleared my cache several times between these two incidents.

Is anybody else having this problem? Is there anything else I could be doing, unknowingly, to make it happen? Thanks in advance!

Are you in busy mode?

Honestly don't know if this will work for you, and I can't test it in-world atm, but I've had some group-tag-related oddness recently with some things

If you have a group tag active, deactivate it (go to None), try at another store (something free or L$1 would probably be a good test rather than a more expensive item).

I wasn't able to use an item I bought while one group tag was activated yesterday (land, object, both not deeded to any group). I bug reported that, too.

I hope either that suggestion does the trick or you get a solution soon!

What you're describing is the normal behaviour when you're set as "Busy".

A few weeks back there were two help requests from people with a very similar problem. Have a friend offer you different kinds of inventory (landmarks, notecards and textures are special so they're not great to test with; objects and animations would be best) and ask them if they're getting "Ilianexsi has accepted" or "Ilianexsi has declined" or don't see anything at all.
Then try it again in a different sim to rule out the possibility that it's just a sim problem.

Meanwhile, check your trash can in case the items are showing up there.

The two people who reported it had it happen on and off sporadically. If noone else has any suggestions later, I'll try and find them again to ask if it went away and what - if anything - they did to fix it since they reported it then .

Two things come to mind right away:

1. You are in busy mode - when you are busy everything is automatically declined.

2. You have muted the object giving you the item - check your mute list.

Yeah, but I wasn't in busy mode either time; the first time, I was offline, the second time I was standing right there at the vendor. The item was declined as soon as I bought it. I did check to make sure nothing was muted, and didn't see any problem there.

I have this happen to me with one store, IM me for the name. But when the seller has sent me the product, it would wind up in my trash folder, so check it. This has been a long term problem for me, but just with one store.
Friends who are with me at the same time can buy just fine.

Wow, that's completely bizarre-- I checked, and an anim was in there! Perhaps the one I 'declined' from the vendor. Still not sure why this is happening, but I'm relieved to have this one-- thanks for the tip!

Edit to add: I checked properties, it is the one I bought yesterday. My chat history said I declined it, but it actually ended up in my trash. I've never had this happen before-- I wonder what causes it?

Only reasons I can think of are...
Busy mode
Object Muted
Seller Muted
Seller has You Muted

If none of those are the case you may want to file a bug report =/

I did file a bug report on mine. I was not busy nor did I have the object muted. I was able to IM with the seller, so he wasn't muted.

Same here, none of the above was the case. I've filed a couple of bug reports, here's hoping it helps!

Posting again, because I hope someone can offer some fresh ideas... I've tried buying things again from these vendors, in two different sims, and the item was declined every time. The very first time this happened, the item went to my trash; now it doesn't.

I've cleared cache several times, and tonight I uninstalled and reinstalled SL... didn't help at all. I wasn't in busy mode, didn't have the vendor muted. A friend was able to buy something from the same vendor with no trouble. She was also able to drop me an item while I was offline, so that doesn't tell me why the offered item was declined when it came directly from the maker.

I've checked my settings, and I don't see anything there that could explain it. When I try to use the vendor, I get a popup box saying I paid, but I don't get a menu offering the item. It doesn't go to my trash, either... every time, I check my chat history right after buying the item, and it says, 'you decline such and such.' The vendors use 'pay' instead of 'buy' if that means anything.

Does anyone have any idea what else could be causing this? Is there anything else I can do, aside from sending bug reports? This is really making me crazy, because I really want the poses from this shop, and now it looks like I'll just have to forget it.

Do other vendors work fine with you? Either its them or its a bug. Bypass the vendor and IM the manufacturer personally. Plenty of friendly merchants would be sympathetic to your plight and just send you what you seek through the 'mail'.

Well i think people know the "BUSY" has that affect of given items.
I had this issue on and off for a few moments now. Its indeed a issue.

So far, yeah, it seems to just be vendors from one place. Although other people buy from there just fine, so I guess it's some sort of mysterious bug that only I have.

The thing that concerns me, though, is that the merchant tried to drop me an item when I was offline, after the first incident, and it was also declined. I have no idea if it'd work okay when I was online... hopefully so! I've sent bug reports a few times... wish there was more I could do.

From my experience with this problem it was the object the merchant dropped you that went to your trash folder. I did an item search before I had contacted the seller. Then after he sent me the item, the trash folder appeared in my recent items.
