mine all started when the tiny bunny face I had been building for several hours just suddenly...disappeared. After looking all the obvious places, frustrated, I put out my yodel cheese as a kind of joke, then decided to look beneath the ground on my island -- and terraformed it down maybe 30 meters just beneath where I'd been building. The yodel cheese, which I did not realize was a physical thing, fell down into the hole and actually simply disappeared, leaving its yodel behind (I sure hope I can find a way to fix that) and when I was trying to raise the hole back up, my island reverted itself entirely (except for the land that I actually has selected for terraforming, which didn't change at all) which resulted in deletion of a couple thousand prims worth of stuff that got buried.

I mean now it seems pretty funny, as a story. But I wonder how much of that inventory will ever come back -- some of it suddenly appears out of nowhere in a very random fashion, but it is somewhere in the ether, and not anywhere in my inventory.

Anyone have similar experiences, and did you ever find all your stuff?

Oh Poppet - what a tale of woe. Can you request a rollback?

Poppet, a bit distressing when all your items suddenly disappears isn't it? It happened to my a couple weeks ago, but it was my error.

Did you get the message that said items were returned to your inventory? If so, look in your lost & found. Multiple items are returned to lost & found in groups under one name. For example an item named object included my house, a group of trees and plants and part of my furniture. Another item named garden light included my dock and boats and another set of furniture. It was a bit of a pain setting everything out again but nothing compared to the panic when I thought I had lost all my stuff.

As for whats happening with the land, that's very strange. I have no advice to offer there.

Good luck

Thank you so much, Aislin! I had forgotten about the items in Lost and Found being grouped like that, and now I am finding the things that I thought were lost!

I guess I should start keeping inventory -- but have been too lazy and busy making things to take the time to do it.

Thanks so much!

Poppet, download and keep a copy of your terrain file to quikly recover from problems like this.

I have had this happen to me a couple of times and just uploaded my last copy of the terrain file to recover. No Live Help (or whatever it is called now), and no support necessary :)
