Sim Alterations

Hi,

Five weeks ago I purchased 16000sqm of land in a sim called Chamcook on the mainland. When purchasing I noted that the sim number was around 1050 but this has now changed o 292 and tha lag is terrible. The lag is considerably more than what it was 4 weeks ago.

I would never have purchased land when the sim was such an early model, its well detailed and known that the higher the sim number the later the model and the better the performance. That is what I looked for when investing my $500+.

The lag is terrible and understandable given that server 292 must be approx. 2-3 years old.

Please can someone from LL or a resident provide an answer as to why this move has taken place , its seems a totally unfair situation. LL have no doubt reposition the previous server to a better area but thats at the expense of the people who owned land at Chamcook.

How much does this go on? I see this as I paid $500+ for a piece of middle-quality land that is now low-quality. Does that sound fair?

Looking forward to the response,

Lee

It's normal for sims to change hosts though since no sim is tied to any specific server, they're all interchangeable.

If something happens to the server the sim is running on I think the automated process tries to restart it first, and if that fails it simply loads the sim on a spare server.

Also, while sims can be started on any server, they supposidly only start on a server that is the same level as the one it was running on so even though the number might be lower or higher (according to the Lindens) the server it's running is the same kind.

Write up a short summary of the problem ("The mainland sim I'm on is severely lagged, could someone come take a look at it or possibly restart it?";) and try to get a Linden's attention on Help Request, or alternatively leave a note on the Linden Answers forum, because Lindens don't actually actively follow this forum.

Lee although I am not sure if it will help at this time but you qualify for concierge service which means a special contact number, LL contacts, and a group for you to be invited to. Sometimes those people can assist you as well even if amount other residents in that group.
