Second Life has not been working right for Days!!! We get no answers to anything from Linden Labs, Just a "Please be patient" I am sick of not being able to do anything in SL!!!! If things don't get fixed pretty soon they had better be planning on pro-rating my Monthly fees and my Land tier Fees for the time it has been unusable!!

I understand things happen, But I am paying good money for a Service and I expect things to be fixed in a timely manner or be compensated for the down time!! Come on LL, Get someone that can get this crap fixed or shut it down and give everyone their money back!! You could at least keep everyone posted on the progress every few hours! Let us know what the problem is, How long you expect it to take to get fixed, What your doing to get it fixed, etc!! Tell us how you are progressing!! Any other service would have been dumped by everyone by now if they treated everyone like Mushrooms the way you do!!!

The Terms of Service make it clear that as long as you can login to SL, no matter how bad your user experience is in-world, then Linden Lab has held up their end of the bargain. The only way to get an account credit is if the grid is offline for 24-hours or longer.

you know, I would be perfectly happy to see the grid go down for 24 hours, if i knew that they were FIXING THE PROBLEMS (all of them!!) I wouldn't even ask for a pro-rate. It's like taking my car to the shop; I'd rather they overhaul the entire thing all at once, than tighten a screw once a week.

Elex, do you always stick up for anything as long as it's allowed or covered in the TOS? Do you ever see past the words written in the contract to the insanity of it all?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

It's never that I "stick up" for the Terms of Service, the Lindens, or Second Life in general nor does that mean I fall on the opposite side. If I take apart a certain part or all of an argument it doesn't mean I have a beef with another person.

Sometimes folks are expecting things or actions which aren't covered in the Terms of Service. It doesn't matter whether myself or another individual would like to see a particular thing or a particular action.

In this particular thread, for example, the OP is wanting to be compensated for downtime and there's been no downtime. Though the user experience on the grid might be bad, according to the Terms of Service, as long as we're able to access the grid the Lindens have held up their end. Note that I'm not saying people can't vent. I, myself, am known for mixing lots of snark in with my venting.

Do I _personally_ have a problem with the Terms of Service? Nope. I sure don't as I agreed to it. One of the conditions for me to take part in Second Life is for me to accept the Terms of Service. When I'm in someone's house or business or virtual universe I play by their rules. However, there's nothing about the Terms of Service which prevents me from bringing up an unresolved issue with a third party if I felt it was necessary.

That's the tragedy of all this.

All people really want is to hear progress, to know that LL are on top of it (or trying to be), and that they care.

They should be posting a NEW BLOG ENTRY EVERY DAY on it, when things are this bad. Giving any and all information they have on what's wrong, and what's being done to fix it.

That's all people really need to be patient.

Instead, we get only one blog entry, with nothing but a few short paragraphs, out of date, on it. As if it is no big deal.

While we get lengthy blog entries on things no one cares about right now.

Limiting blog posts to 100 is not a good move, either.

A blog post entry every day with unlimited comments (or at least 500 comments) would go a long way towards containing this situation. Pretty soon, the posts would even die down, once everyone had a chance to say his piece, and when people are reassured that there is someone - ANYONE - at the helm and on top of this, and caring about us.

But they don't. They ignore it all. They ignore us. They buy SO MUCH BAD WILL with this, it almost hurts to watch them do it.

When it would be so simple to handle it in a way where all of us would feel reassured, and even in it together with them.

So simple.
