Trees overhanging on neighbouring land

Hi

I bought a plot of land. Yey! On one corner, there is an adjoining plot which has been carved up into 16m ad squares, one of which has a three box high revolving sign. It doesn't bother me that much, but it is a big ugly, so I put some big trees on the corner, to block it from view. I was careful to plant the trees on my land, but close to the border, but then the foliage bit of the tree overhangs the land next door. Is this going to get me into trouble?

...only if your neighbour complains about it- but when it's a sky high revolving ad thing a few leaves probably won't bother your neighbour. I had a problem with someone's leaves poking into my living room, that was a nuisance, but if you're just poking the bottom of an ad.... ;)

Simple solution:

Send a politely worded IM to your neighbor explaining (briefly) why you put the tree up and telling your neighbor you will move the tree if it bothers them.

Civility works awesome with neighbors ^.^

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

It shouldn't be a problem if the Wind bends the trees onto the property occasionally, But if they overhang Too Far, you might want to pull them back farther onto your land. You can't really demand that others be good or considerate neighbors if you are not prepared to be one Yourself.
BTW, any fruit On branches Overhanging his property belongs to Him. Common Law. :D

I'd just leave it there and if the person complained I'd tell em to piss off. Nothing is worse then those Micro Barons.

We always have fun about this with our neighbors about thier plum bush and our pear tree... lots of threating in good fun and lots of laughter, solved when we want a shared BBQ :P
