Hiya,
Within SL, it seems parcels of land can be rented or bought in: 512, 1024, 2048 etc square metre sizes.
Is there a way of dividing islands into these size shapes? Whilst I can sub-divide land, using the click and drag to select a piece of land, prior to using the 'sub-divide' option, the parcel size is very unprecise and I would like to set parcels to 512, 1024 or 2048 parcels, so all parcels are the same size.
Many thanks in anticipation...

divide your island in half, then divide it in half the other way. You should then have 4 parcels. This will give you smaller areas to work with . Divide each 1/4th island into 4 again, and you will have 4 4096 parcels. Those should divide easly into 1024's, and then halved into 512's.

A rectangular parcel 16 M by 32 M is 512 M2. A square parcel 32 M by 32 M is 1024. It isn't hard to get either size, merely by selecting a point on the ground and dragging the mouse. The selection rectangle in land edit mode snaps to 4 M increments.
